13:45 – Chairmanoftheboard
I like Chairmanoftheboard for Jack Channon with Edward Greatrex on board. He ran really well in the race last year and if the rain comes, it suits his style perfectly.
14:20 – Theoryofeverything
Theoryofeverything finished fourth behind Hafeet Alain at Newmarket last time out. That holds key form lines, with Dutch Decoy finishing second. Theoryofeverything was a little slow in the stalls and with the benefit of that last run, he can show improvement for David O’Meara. William Buick is on board too which is always a bonus.
14:55 – Mitbaahy
I’m with Mitbaahy. He was a bit keen on his last start at Newmarket and he ended up finishing fourth. He’s the most reliable choice and he can put in a better performance than his April run.
15:35 – Alyanaabi (each way) & Iberian (each way)
City Of Troy could kick on but the only concern right now is the form of the Aidan O’Brien yard. They haven’t had a flying start to the season and I would love to see them having more winners to get behind City Of Troy, who is a very good horse, at his price.
I’ve got a couple of each-way fancies who could be better value picks in Iberian and Alyanaabi. Alyanaabi finished second behind City Of Troy in October and I get the feeling that Jim Crowley is a huge fan of his. He can go well at a decent price.
Iberian is worth keeping an eye on for Charlie Hills with Tom Marquand on board. He won the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster last year and didn’t follow that up in the Dewhurst behind City Of Troy but I’ll chance him at his price.
