This is a special conditions race and Private Ryan for Sean Doyle is the one for me. Because of the nature of this race it’s full of horses that we wouldn’t normally see at Punchestown but he has plenty of ability.
16:15 Arctic Bresil(each way)
It’s Arctic Bresil (each-way) for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore. I actually walked back in with Rachel after his run at Cheltenham and she was really upset with the start. Nothing went right and she felt that definitely compromised his chances. He’s a fair price and he’ll love the hustle and bustle of this contest.
16:50 Allegorie De Vassy
Allegorie De Vassy put up a good effort in a really competitive race at Cheltenham. She wasn’t beaten all that far and she can get the better of Brides Hill.
17:25 Famous Clermont
I like Famous Clermont in the Hunters Chase. He won the Aintree Foxhunters’ last year and the UK-trained horses have a good record in this race. I’m taking this one to continue it.
18:00 State Man
State Man should be winning this. It looks absolutely tailor made for him.
18:35 Ballyburn
It’s another ‘shorty’ in the market here with Ballyburn but it’s very hard to oppose him. He looks the best novice this season.
19:05 Anotherway
Anotherway looks hard to beat in here. He looked set to play a huge part last time out at Fairyhouse before coming down two out in that Grade Two contest. He can get his revenge.
19:40 Dontstopthemusic
Martin Brassil has had a fantastic week already and his Dontstopthemusic ran in a maiden hurdle on debut and now reverts to a Bumper again after finishing second to I Will Be Baie at Galway in August. He was eye-catching that day at Leopardstown and he’s got the same owners as Fastorslow, who love having winners at Punchestown. That’ll do for me.
