13:30 – Dominic’s Fault

A competitive handicap to open the card. Olly Murphy’s DOMINIC’S FAULT travels like one who could be well treated off an opening mark of 107 and is given a chance to prove it with a tongue tie added. The seven-year-old has only had three starts but won a novice hurdle at Leicester in January before possibly finding the race coming too soon last time. Rascal and Old Gregorian have similarly unexposed profiles to the selection, while Mack The Man and Lively Citizen have a lot more miles on the clock but arrive in good form.

14:05 – Breeze Of Wind

BREEZE OF WIND is a highly progressive novice for Stuart Coltherd and shaped much better than the result having made mistakes at Carlisle last time, so he’s a solid choice to get back to winning ways in the Highland National having won over a marathon trip at Hexham last month. Duke of Deception arrives on the back of a career-best when scoring at Haydock and Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero’s stable is flying, so he’s an obvious danger, while Haute Estime is one to note from a lenient mark after her third over a similar trip at Bangor last time.

14:40 – Stoke The Fire

STOKE THE FIRE has a penalty to carry after winning on his debut at Tramore but wasn’t beaten far in a stronger novice than this at Naas last time when fourth to the useful Toto Too and he looks set to make a small contribution to Willie Mullins’ bid for the British jumps trainers’ championship. Tommys Law was much improved from his hurdling debut when touched off in a maiden at Ayr last time and he is clear second choice ahead of Uncle Mac who makes his first start for Rose Dobbin after a five-month break.

15:15 – Jacks Parrot

It’s difficult to ascertain what JACKS PARROT achieved when thumping his two rivals at Uttoxeter earlier in the month. But he jumped much better than he had on his British debut for Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero, so he’s chanced to come out on top in a much more competitive contest. The second choice is Artic Row, who made it three wins at Ayr in as many completed starts over fences last time in a manner that suggests he’s yet to show all he can, with So They Say and Gold Emery taken to fight out third.

15:50 – African Dance

AFRICAN DANCE has had his share of problems but he’s looked pretty talented when making the track, winning both his starts over fences, the latest one at Market Rasen in February last year after 15 months off. A similar absence since then isn’t a major worry. Therefore, he can be another winner on the card for Olly Murphy. Readysteadybeau won this race last year and can be excused for his latest effort so is a threat, as is Chasing Fire, a stablemate of the selection, if his stamina holds on a first try over three miles.

16:25 – Plaisir Des Flos

PLAISIR DES FLOS has thrived this spring since going into handicaps for Fergal O’Brien, scoring in impressive style at Ayr last week in a conditionals/amateurs contest, and without a penalty for that he can go on to land the four-timer. Gustoso got off the mark at Huntingdon in first-time cheekpieces on his latest outing and could be the biggest threat, with the progressive Tommy Combats, who was third on his handicap debut at Carlisle last time, completing the shortlist.

17:00 – Caughtinyourtrance

Not many in this bumper have had a run but CAUGHTINYOURTRANCE made a promising start for James Moffatt at Wetherby when third to the impressive Castle Ivers and gets the vote with improvement likely. Takt de Touques is one of a couple of Irish raiders, having won a point there last month, and is one of a host of interesting newcomers, along with Lord Fortescue for the stable of Harriet Graham & Gary Rutherford.
