15:59 – It’s Maisy
Proven stamina and effectiveness in the mud earn the vote for the in-form mare IT’S MAISY who wouldn’t appear to have a lot to beat. Ebendi may offer the most resistance.
16:30 – The Grey Man
While imagination might give one or two others a chance, calculations appear to be dominated by just three of these runners and THE GREY MAN, who has had only one go at this discipline, is preferred to last week’s back-to-form mare Miss Maverick and Give Me A Boom.
17:00 – Pebbly New Moon
Not many of these ran well last time; two who did, River Tyne and Higgs, are difficult to win with. Twilight Glory may bounce back from his Chepstow disappointment when he was bidding for a hat-trick, but a chance is taken on PEBBLY NEW MOON. He showed some promise over C&D on his penultimate run when back from a huge absence, and the first-time blinkers may help with his jumping. River Tyne is second choice.
17:35 – Anti Bridgie
The most solid option appears to be ANTI BRIDGIE, who will be suited by the step up in trip after her solid work over fences gained its first win last time. Belargus has staged something of a revival recently and he’s second choice.
18:10 – Mr Bramley (NAP)
The progressive MR BRAMLEY (nap) looks on a very reasonable mark for his handicap debut and he can win again. Il Va De Soi has teamed up to good effect with Alice Stevens and cheekpieces on his last two outings. He found plenty for pressure when winning at Chepstow last time and looks like the danger. Royal Rhythm, going beyond 2m1f for the first time this season, maybe best of the rest.
18:45 – Billiams Legacy
A breakthrough over hurdles seemed in the offing for BILLAMS LEGACY and Walkinthecotswolds when they travelled best entering the closing stages in their races last time out, only to finish second. They may still be the top two candidates in this race unless the ground dries out sufficiently for Ma Belle Artiste to see it out better than she did when front-running on soft at Haydock.
19:20 – Walkadina
With several likely ones making their debuts this isn’t an easy race to predict but former pointer WALKADINA showed enough on her debut to suggest she can win a race like this. Roaring Home is another likely to go well.
19:50 – Austins Hill Lass
Having joined a top yard since her easy win in a point bumper at Alnwick in January, AUSTINS HILL LASS is selected to make a winning debut under rules. The newcomer Swallowfields and Newbury fifth Goddess Afrana are two others who should go well.
