13:45 Great Samourai
A wind operation could revive Man Again’s fortunes, while Couldbeaweapon is on a dangerous mark and Duke Of Luckley (second choice) has conditions to suit. GREAT SAMOURAI could take a step forward over today’s trip, though, and he’s tentatively preferred.
14:18 Star Flyer
This might go to STAR FLYER, who was one of two to pull a long way of the others when winning in pretty good style over C&D in February and is now only 6lb above that mark. God’s Own Getaway (second choice) looks interesting on today’s chasing debut, while Hall Lane will appreciate this ease in grade and Spago made a promising start to his chasing career in the autumn.
14:53 Roger Rarebit
Post Chaise has a good strike-rate over fences and might still be on the upgrade but another chance is given to ROGER RAREBIT, who found 3m on heavy ground too taxing on his latest outing but still has scope to progress from his quite impressive chasing debut in November and ran well over hurdles on his only visit to Southwell. Tom Creen should also feature, while Shiroccosmagicbaby is still unexposed over fences and Lermoos Legend will appreciate today’s return to faster ground.
15:30 Captain Wallace
Several of these are still unexposed but it’s very easy to see the appeal of CAPTAIN WALLACE, who posted a much improved performance to win by 10l at Exeter on Friday and still looks well handicapped under his penalty. Mermaids Cave looks quite interesting on his debut for James Owen and is second choice. Saint Bibiana and Larkfield Lusive both made the frame in the same C&D contest 19 days ago and can also feature.
16:05 Rialannah
The Lord Maid impressed on her hurdling debut at Clonmel in January and commands respect on her British debut but slight preference is for RIALANNAH, who stuck to her task very well when second at Market Rasen last month and probably still has more to offer. Nicky Henderson’s runner Floating Line needs to improve upon her hurdling debut in November but she has potential.
16:40 Tommy Time
Irish bumper winner (1m7f, good to yielding) who won on hurdle debut at Sedgefield (2m1f, soft) last October and has run creditably in defeat since at up to 2m3f; lightly raced but TOMMY TIME could have potential off opening mark.
17:15 Klitschko
Intimate might progress again from last month’s Hereford win but the suggestion is KLITSCHKO, who disappointed on heavy ground last month but was a very creditable second over 2m two starts ago and could still have a lot more to offer. Billy Boi Blue, Nordic Tiger and Letthedustsettle are others for the shortlist.
17:50 Faded Fantasy
Mahler Moon has been shaping as though his turn is near and benefits from a drop in grade today but the drying ground ought to suit FADED FANTASY and he is selected in the hope he can recapture the form of last summer’s easy course maiden win. Nickelforce and Urban Soldier complete the shortlist.
