13:52 – THEATRICALLY

THEATRICALLY has shaped well on both starts, including when a fairly close-up fifth in the Brocklesby, and should be up to winning one of these. Law Degree shaped with some encouragement when fourth to Atherstone Warrior in a maiden at Thirsk, while Almanjoor is speedily bred and represents a powerful yard in this sphere. Before market clues, Inshad and Pastoral Ways look the pick of the other newcomers on paper.

14:22 – TEST OF LOVE

He’s more speedily bred than most from the yard and TEST OF LOVE displayed definite signs of promise without looking anything like the finished article in a trio of starts as a juvenile and, gelded ahead of this return, he’s just the type to take off now handicapping for his very shrewd stable. Desert Raider, who won first time up last season, and Southwell fourth Blufferonthebus are others to consider, whilst Coin Power is another handicap debutant to keep an eye on.

14:52 – ESMERAY

Steadily progressive in novice/maidens, ESMERAY shaped better than the bare result when third on handicap debut at Newbury when last seen in September, making her effort earlier than ideal. Appealing as being on a handy mark for a yard that has a 21% strike-rate at the course, she looks a big player on return. Last year’s winner Lightening Company and Forceful Speed are others to consider, with 2022 winner Baryshnikov, who is closely linked on form with the first-named, another in the mix.

15:22 – ON THE RIVER

Successful on his respective return over C&D 12 months ago, ON THE RIVER shaped as if needing the run this time around when fifth in a C&D handicap three weeks ago. Expected to take a step forward from that run, he’s dropped 1 lb below his last winning mark and could well be worth chancing to come out on top. Perseverants comes here in fine form and should play a big part again with his form looking solid, with Arkenstaar another to consider on return to action given his good record at the similarly testing venue of Hamilton.

15:55 – DO I DREAM

There looks to be enough pace on here in order to suit DO I DREAM who confirmed the promise of her C&D second when resuming winning ways at Ripon four days ago and, unpenalised for that success, she looks to hold sound claims of going in again for her in-form yard. Fellow last-time-out winner Highfield Viking is a big threat, though this longer trip is an unknown for all he stayed on well last time. Along with Lerwick, the half-brother to Highfield Princess heads up the dangers.

16:25 – TARBAT NESS

With a test of stamina on soft ground very much in his faovur, the vote goes to TARBAT NESS who should have come on for his Wolverhampton return and is very interesting under Silvestre De Sousa. Brickadank has won his last two over fences and has to be respected with conditions so suit once more, while the consistent duo Ney and Wannabe Brave are also in the mix.

17:00 – HEARTWARMER

HEARTWARMER and Thursday’s Child both looked promising when making winning debuts at Newcastle, particularly the former who put in good late work when landing a 6f novice at that track. George Boughey’s charge is taken to see off Thursday’s Child who is bred to get further than this trip, with newcomer Dee’s Girl, a half-sister to three winners including Zaman Jemil who went close at this course, most interesting of the remainder.

17:30 – SHOWALONG

With conditions to suit, the nod in a competitive sprint goes to SHOWALONG who is now 5 lb lower than for his Nottingham success last spring and he has shown enough in two starts since returning to action last month to suggest that his turn could again be near. Huddle Up refused to race on Saturday but will be a threat if reproducing form akin to his reappearance effort at Doncaster and he is next on the list ahead of Sound Reason, who makes his debut for a shrewd yard, and recent Catterick winner Trilby.
