15:45 – Indication Ember

The market should be interesting concerning the newcomers. Of that group, the 130,000gns yearling Li Ban is interesting, especially with the stable having already struck with a 2yo newcomer this season. At the same time, the 115,000gns yearling Miss Lamai also represents a stable that often gets them ready the first time. However, INDICATION EMBER ran well to finish third of the 15 runners in the Brocklesby and that experience should stand her in good stead.

16:20 – Kendall Roy (NAP)

Plenty of possibilities in a warm 3-year-old handicap, headed by KENDALL ROY (nap) who bolted up at Windsor on Monday and is much respected in his bid for a quick follow-up. Others to bear in mind include Winged Messenger who ended his 2yo campaign on a high, last month’s Newcastle winner Sergeant Wilko and the reliable Moonstone Boy.

16:55 – Never So Brave

Not many can be strongly fancied and although Moneypiece and Ghaihaban can go well, the two standout contenders look to be Swift Storm and NEVER SO BRAVE. Bumping into one subsequent Group 1 winner was unfortunate but having found Ancient Wisdom too strong on debut, Never So Brave then ran into Vandeek at Nottingham. He can gain compensation in these calmer waters.

17:30 – Ramazan

A smart conditions event. RAMAZAN made good progress as a 3-year-old, culminating with a near miss in a Redcar Listed race over this trip, and he can strike on this reappearance with his yard going well. Baradar should be better suited for this trip than the 6f he tackled on his seasonal return and might be the one for the forecast spot.

18:05 – King’s Crown

A wide-open handicap may go to KING’S CROWN who has fallen in the weights and now reappears for a new yard that excels with sprinters. Plenty of the others have soft-ground 6f form. In order of preference, the main dangers are Cold Stare, Slainte Mhath, Huddle Up, Society Lion and Mersea.

18:35 – Our Absent Friends

The handicap door has been opened for Gulliver, and he can be dangerous off this relatively low mark. But OUR ABSENT FRIENDS had some good subsequent winners behind when successful at Ayr in July. Which is the only time he’s run over 6f on soft ground. Minnesota Lad, Mereside Diva and William Dewhirst could be in the picture.

19:05 – Kardia

Ed Bethell won this with a lightly raced improver last year and it might be worth siding with him to repeat the feat as KARDIA should have more to offer after only four starts. Her Newmarket handicap debut third last November shows that her mark is fair and she won on soft on her 2023 reappearance, so there are reasons to be positive. To Catch A Thief (second choice), Fairbanks and Roost are other low-mileage 4yos who could have their best days ahead of them. Two Brothers, who won the second time out last year, completes the shortlist.

19:40 – MC’s Wag

A huge field but not many appeal. Enderman, Yazaman and Stormy Pearl ran creditably in divisions of a C&D handicap 11 days ago and should go well, while Langholm is set to make a bold bid with the stands’ rail his for the taking if he fancies it. The claims of MC’S WAG aren’t quite obvious but her best effort came on the one occasion she’s encountered slow turf and she still has a bit of potential after just nine starts.
