13:10 Villainess

The return to two miles will suit VILLAINESS, who took a strong hold over further on his handicap debut at Huntingdon last month, and he’s fancied to get back on track and open his account back in maiden company in what doesn’t look the strongest race of its type. Hard As Nails won’t lack for fitness given the yard she represents so she has to be feared, with Flat-recruit Value Added another to note.

13:40 Twp Stori

The Sam Drinkwater-trained TWP STORI arrives firmly on the up, building on previous promise when opening his account at Fontwell last month, having a bit in hand, and given he is unexposed as a stayer, he is fancied to defy a 7 lb rise at the chief expense of in-form maiden Johns Dream. Mel Rowley’s new recruit R Bernard and hat-trick seeking The Wise Traveller can both have a say too in a competitive handicap.

14:15 Easy Peasy

EASY PEASY has looked a nice prospect when winning her first two starts over hurdles, defying a penalty with a bit in hand at Ludlow 19 days ago, and she can add to her tally with further progress to come now making her handicap debut from what looks a fair opening mark. Mighty Moth opened her hurdles account in good style last time and is feared most, ahead of Finest View.

14:48 Ballyrashane

BALLYRASHANE is steadily progressing as a chaser, leaving his debut effort in this sphere well behind when winning a weak event at Fakenham last month, and he ran at least as well when runner-up at Ffos Las three weeks ago, so he could be the answer up against exposed sorts. Hilltown was back to his best when scoring at Plumpton so must be respected, while the likeable Felton Bellevue can make his presence felt again.

15:23 Avada Kedavra

AVADA KEDAVRA showed distinct signs of promise on his first of three starts in novice and maiden hurdles earlier this season and, very much appealing as the type to do better now handicapping, Nicky Henderson’s well-bred sort is of definite interest here. Garitsa Bay, who caught the eye at Market Rasen three weeks ago, is another to consider, along with Warren Greatrex’s mare Largy Force.

15:55 Churchman

CHURCHMAN went agonisingly close to breaking his duck when beaten on the nod at Ludlow in February and with this step back up in trip rating a plus, he looks to hold sound claims of gaining compensation here. Four-year-old Raise Your Glass and A Tickatickatiming are others to consider, whilst the market may prove useful in assessing the chances of handicap-debutants Harrys Game and Finn Lough.

16:25 Deise Aba

DEISE ABA was a useful but unpredictable chaser for Philip Hobbs, but he has made a terrific start in points for this stable, winning all three of his starts in that sphere, and he’s the class act in this field, so he’s preferred to Solomon Grey, who wasn’t disgraced between the flags last time. What A Glance is the pick of the remainder, albeit with quite a bit to find.
