Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.

Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

14:05 Newbury – Elmalka (Daily Mail)

This year’s Fred Darling has attracted an unusually small field but it’s not short on quality, with Group 2 winners Relief Rally and Folgaria among the declarations. The former has a question to answer upped in distance and the latter is having her first run outside Italy. The only runners who hold entries in the 1,000 Guineas are bright prospect ELMALKA, likely pacesetter Star Music and the dropped-in-trip Regal Jubilee, preferred in that order. The selection has lots of potential, while the second choice represents a yard in excellent form and the third choice progressed well last autumn.

14:25 Ayr – Leau Du Sud (The Guardian)

The most solid credentials belong to LEAU DU SUD who deserves to land a big prize after silver medals in the Betfair at Newbury and the County at Cheltenham. Dangers abound, and they include Afadil, third at Aintree last week, the 2023 winner Rubaud and the upwardly mobile Morebattle winner Cracking Rhapsody. The lightly raced Florida Dreams is dangerous judged on last spring’s bumper form, while last year’s fifth Salsada should not be discounted despite having to run from 8lb out of the weights.

18:55 Nottingham – Young Merlin (Spotlight)

This is a quick turnaround for the thriving Clansman after Ripon on Thursday so it might be worth taking him on with YOUNG MERLIN. Amy Murphy’s charge was rated in the mid-70s the last time he ran on the Flat in Britain and three hurdle wins for this yard last summer suggests most of that ability remains.

19:20 Brighton – Bernadine (The Times)

Returned to Class 5 level, BERNADINE could well defy top weight. Intercessor, who has solid-looking claims, is second choice ahead of closely matched rivals Freetodream and Island Native.
