The Grade 1 Ascot Chase (15:37) tops the bill at Ascot as Cheltenham Gold Cup hopefuls Corbetts Cross and L’Homme Presse attempt to get the better of last year’s winner Pic D’Orhy. The Swinley Handicap Chase (15:00) is the pick of the supporting races as Victtorino bids to repeat his Silver Cup success.
It is also a Premier Raceday at Haydock and the Grand National Trial (15:15) is the feature as last season’s scorer Yeah Man goes for back-to-back victories. There is a double helping of Grade 2 action on the card courtesy of the Rendlesham Hurdle (14:40) featuring the hat-trick seeking Nemean Lion and the Albert Bartlett Prestige Novices’ Hurdle (15:50).
Burdett Road heads the field for the Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle (13:36) at Wincanton and the Willie Mullins pair of Classic Getaway and Saint Sam take on Journey With Me in the Grade 2 Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park.
The evening all-weather meetings at Newcastle and Southwell round off proceedings.
