13:45 – Ginny’s Destiny
GINNY’S DESTINY is a very assured jumper, he has got every chance in this one. If it was a straight head-to-head with no odds between him and Grey Dawning I would pick the latter. But there is not much between them and there are odds and the price for Ginny’s Destiny is much more appealing as it overestimates the gap between the pair.
14:20 – Nurburgring
NURBURGRING got a poor ride in the Triumph Hurdle. He didn’t need to be right on the pace but needed to be closer as he made up ground late on, but it was already too late to feature. He is entitled to come on from that race, and with a more aggressive ride, he can run well. He is the overpriced horse in this contest.
14:55 – Gerri Colombe
GERRI COLOMBE was impressive here last season. He did have a tough race in the Gold Cup but it was a career-best for him and he is the standout in this one. He will remain in good form and will be hard to beat here and will be perfectly happy running on the heavy ground, as a top-heavy horse, it’s these conditions where he shows his best form.
15:30 – Impaire Et Passe
IMPAIRE ET PASSE has a chance to show what he can do as he has been running in tactical affairs against State Man all year, which hasn’t suited him. He ran well in his first two starts before a disappointing Irish Champion Hurdle. He will be happier going two and a half miles and getting a lead here, and he is a fair price.
16:05 – Lieutenant Rocco
LIEUTENANT ROCCO has always been a bold jumper and I think Aintree will suit him. It may have been a bit of a rush to get him here. But he’s better than he has been able to show this season. He showed last season that he is a decent horse and is capable of putting up a huge show from near the front if he keeps out of trouble. If he’s fit enough, he looks of value.
16:40 – Sans Bruit (each-way)
SANS BRUIT is a massive standout in terms of what I would be backing, on a day where it’s really hard to pick standouts. Two miles over fences should be ideal for him and he’s completely unexposed under these conditions. There is a lot more to come from him.
17:15 – Diva Luna
DIVA LUNA impressed at Market Rasen where she went straight into a listed race on debut. Ben Pauling was in the middle of a hot run of form with his Bumper performances, throwing her into that race suggests he has her high on his list. Diva Luna will run well here.
