14:05 Kempton – Choisya
Unlike quite a few in the lineup, CHOISYA has proven herself at this level a few times and she also comes from the Crisford team that have them fit and ready to go first time off a break, she has strong course and distance form and showed a great attitude to get up into a blanket. Placed finish when last seen at this venue.
14:40 Kempton – Chillingham
The slight drop back in distance to 1m 3f is going to play to CHILLINGHAM’s strengths as he was only picked up very late in the day at Wolverhampton, with the form of the winner Prydwen also boosted recently as well. He could have got off lightly with the assessor only raising him 1lb for that latest effort, and the journey from the North could be worthwhile.
15:15 Kempton – Duty Of Care
DUTY OF CARE didn’t get any pace to run at in the All-Weather marathon championships at Newcastle last time out and did well to finish sixth in those circumstances. He definitely looks to have a bit of wiggle room from where he sits in the handicap and can make the step up into a decent stayer throughout the turf season.
15:30 Chelmsford – Brackens Laugh
He won a decent Newbury contest on his course debut and BRACKENS LAUGH wasn’t beaten by that far at the highest level subsequently over in France. It’s not like the trainer Richard Hughes to shoot that high, unless he has the right ammunition. The three-year-old was always going to be a better model this year as he grew and strengthened into his frame.
15:45 Kempton – Devoted Queen
DEVOTED QUEEN needs to win this in pretty impressive fashion if she is going to take up her entry in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket next month, for which she is a 25/1 shot for at this stage. The form of her win at Newmarket wasn’t particularly strong, but she could not have been more impressive on the day, and that will give the Godolphin boys in blue a line on the team.
16:05 Chelmsford – Roxanne
It’s not easy to get a strong gauge on ROXANNE’s German form. However, she comes in with a perfect 100 per cent record and the fact the Ed Dunlop team decided to give Ryan Moore the leg up, suggests she can maintain that spotless record. This race means stepping onto a synthetic surface for the first time and slightly up in trip, but it shouldn’t be a problem.
