17:30 Imperial Guard
This looks a red-hot novice with three promising winners trying to give weight to one who has already shown a good level of ability. Mukaafah was so impressive here in November, that he has to be high on the list, but IMPERIAL GUARD, whose defeats here came at the hands of rivals now BHA-rated 103 and 104, may be able to exploit the 7lb he receives this evening.
18:00 So Quiet
Assuming his wide draw proves no inconvenience, SO QUIET is taken to build on his promising debut effort. Golden Myrrh (second choice) is respected despite an absence since last June and Show Me A Hero also enters calculations based on form, while the newcomers Nazionale and Cuban Melody look interesting.
18:30 Cracking Gold
The signs are that CRACKING GOLD has the talent to defy top weight now handicapping and maintain his unbeaten record. He ideally needs to learn to keep a straight path but otherwise is very promising. Havanagreattime, whose 2yo form stacks up nicely, is feared most.
19:00 Mount Athos
Being 3-3 at Kempton and under James Doyle, MOUNT ATHOS (nap) looks poised to defy a career-high mark back here and follow up last year’s success in this race. Arabian Storm (second choice) is respected with further progress a firm possibility, while Mostabshir’s impressive early performances are not forgotten and Rohaan has the ability to pose a threat.
19:30 Break The Bank
Rey De La Batalla comes here chasing a hat-trick and has race fitness on his side but there are some interesting and unexposed runners in opposition. Sonmarg and Burdett (second choice) have more to come, but BREAK THE BANK showed promise last season, and his classy pedigree offers hope he can fare better this time around.
20:00 Zivaniya
This race features an interesting rematch between Abraaj and Two Past Eight, who finished third and fourth in a similar event over C&D five weeks ago, both shaping well. They are big players, while a solid alternative is ZIVANIYA who is in good form and may have more to offer at this trip.
20:30 Abolish
South Dakota Sioux might prove the pick of John Butler’s three runners but the market should provide clues. Revolucion and First Company (second choice) look set to go well again but ABOLISH may prove the answer now dipping his toe into Class 6 company for the first time.
