14:20 – Time To Dazzle

TIME TO DAZZLE wasn’t given too much of a hard time in three starts last season and has duly showed improved form in handicaps this time around, finishing runner-up on his return at Uttoxeter in December, and taking a big step forward when opening his account at Fontwell last month. He relished the return to a longer trip that day, having plenty in hand, hanging markedly to his right once clear on the run-in and eased near the finish. A subsequent 8 lb rise in the weights shouldn’t be enough to prevent him following up. Asian Spice remains one to be positive about, while A Mere Bagatelle and Winterwatch are a couple of others to note.

14:50 – Ryans Rocket

RYAN’S ROCKET cost £110,000 after winning an Irish point and, though he was well beaten in a bumper on Rules debut, he shaped quite a bit better than the distance beaten suggests in unpleasant conditions. He produced a performance much more in keeping with his looks and price tag when runner-up on his hurdling debut over course and distance in December, pulling well clear of the remainder with the winner. There should be plenty more to come from him now and he sets a good standard on form. Diamond Dice, who carries a penalty for last month’s win at Ludlow, can pose the biggest threat.

15:20 – Giulietta

GIULIETTA is from a family that Dan Skelton knows well, and she is also bred to be much better than her current mark. She shaped particularly well on her return and handicap debut over hurdles at Warwick in November, given a patient ride and making eye-catching headway on the bridle out wide on the home turn, unable to get past the eventual winner but pulling clear of the remainder. She ran too badly to be true when last seen at Ffos Las in December in horrible conditions and she is well worth another chance to prove herself on an attractive mark. Tuscan Rose and Fortune Forever should also go well.

15:50 – Loup De Maulde

LOUP DE MAULDE was a tough and reliable performer over hurdles, winning four times at up to three miles in that sphere last season, and he justified strong support when opening his account in this sphere at the first time of asking for this yard at Huntingdon nine days ago. He scored with any amount in hand on that occasion, taking advantage of his lower chase mark in style, and he will be hard to stop in his follow-up bid turned out under a 7 lb penalty if in the same form. Fellow last-time-out winner’s Moytier and Mortens Leam also need respecting.

16:20 – Toonagh Warrior

Stuart Edmunds has his string in good order and can strike here with TOONAGH WARRIOR, who was just edged out in a strong handicap at Ascot in December and he performed with greater credit than his finishing position would suggest at Newbury last time. He still isn’t long with this yard and is up to winning races from this sort of mark. Amelia’s Dance is hard to knock, for all that it’s been a while since her latest success, and she is feared most ahead of the hat-trick seeking Hara Kiri and Celtic Art.

16:50 – Our Nel

OUR NEL made the frame in all three of his starts over hurdles and matched her form in that sphere right away when finishing third on her chasing debut at Fakenham in December. That form worked out well with the winner and runner-up both winning next time and she again showed ability under an inefficient ride prior to falling on her latest start at Taunton last month. She is worth another chance to build on the promise of her chase debut. Come On Du Berlais made a decent start to her chase career when third at Ludlow so is another to consider, while Sevenofus can bounce back returned to better ground.

17:20 – Oakleys Way

The market should reveal plenty, but Anthony Honeyball’s OAKLEY’S WAY shaped well when third on debut at Wincanton and this half-brother to the top-class two-mile chaser Special Tiara can build on it and come out on top. Paul Nicholls saddles two interesting newcomers though in the shape of Bridie’s Beau and Super Saint and they command plenty of respect along with fellow debutants Shady Wadey and Rowdy.
