So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

15:10 Naas – Military (Brian Flanagan)

MILITARY impressed when winning a 6f maiden here in September. Did not step up as expected in two runs since but still looked quite green. One that looked likely to benefit over the winter. Irish 2,000 Guineas entry should go close although the ground might be a concern.

15:40 Doncaster – Stressfree (On The Nose)

STRESSFREE is an ex-French gelding who justified favouritism at Nottingham (1m2f, heavy; off 4lb lower) on last appearance, taking record to 2-6. Looks the type to improve further this season and commands respect.

15:55 Ascot – Redbridge Rambler (West Country)

REDBRIDGE RAMBLER ended last year with two down-the-field runs (2m/1m7f) but appreciated drop to this grade when close/clear second at Sedgefield (2m4f, soft) last month. Has to take a 3lb rise on the chin but is worth another crack at this sort of trip and today’s faster ground is probably in his favour.

16:30 Ascot – Certainly Red (Matt Polley)

CERTAINLY RED pulled up in the Grimthorpe at Doncaster three weeks ago but that was a highly attritional race in which only two finished. Prior to that he returned to form when runner-up at Sandown (3m, good) and he’s of interest judged on that penultimate performance.
