Ito Ditto has a bit to prove off his current mark and In From The Cold didn’t run much of a race only ten days ago. Wolfspear is solid having coped well with these conditions to win at Uttoxeter but BATAILLON will surely raise his game at some point in Britain and he’s worth chancing in such an uncompetitive race.

16:20 Newcastle – Glory Hights (The Star)

GLORY HIGHTS was a close second over C&D (soft) on handicap debut in January and again ran well when third here (2m6f, heavy) later that month; may yet have a bigger run in him; likely contender.

17:10 Thurles – Rowdy Romeo (Topspeed)

Some fair form for ROWDY ROMEO of late, but a shade disappointing when second of two finishers in testing ground in a 2m4f Hexham maiden in December; fifth behind good yardstick Harvard Guy in a 2m4f Navan handicap is a better guide to his ability.

17:30 Southwell – Eleanor Cross (The Guardian)

In the frame in five of her six starts, going down narrowly the last twice including when beaten a short head by Caustic at Lingfield (1m4f, Polytrack) on her penultimate outing; 6lb better off with her old rival so ELEANOR CROSS shouldn’t be far away again.
