14:05 Superstylin
SUPERSTYLIN was a winner in Irish points and over hurdles, and he made an excellent start to his career over fences with a debut success at Lingfield in November. That was a big career-best effort, leading on the bridle entering the straight and asserting in good style on the run-in. It is a slight concern we haven’t seen him since, but he remains with plenty of potential and has an obvious chance off a 6 lb higher mark. Zara’s Universe and One Last Glance appeal as the pick of the remainder.
14:35 Here Comes Mccoy
HERE COMES MCCOY remains relatively lightly raced for a nine-year-old. He proved better than ever back over fences when opening his account in this sphere at Uttoxeter in January. That was over an extra two furlongs than he will face here, but he had plenty in hand on that occasion, will be suited by ground conditions, and you could argue that a subsequent 8 lb rise in the weights is lenient. Recent Doncaster second Storminhome appeals as the main danger to Olly Murphy’s consistent 9-y-o ahead of veteran Oscar Robertson.
15:05 Caryto Des Brosses
CARYTO DES BROSSES is a two-time winner in this sphere, last seen under Rules finishing runner-up in a well-run event over two miles at Cheltenham last May. He has had a recent run at a point where he again finished runner-up, which should have put him spot-on for this. He has some of the best form on offer and can make it back-to-back wins in this race. The returning Stratagem is another who has tasted hunter success over course and distance and will be a big threat if retaining anything like his old ability.
15:40 Long Draw
LONG DRAW cost £60,000 after finishing runner-up on his completed start in points and made a promising start under Rules when finishing third in a novice hurdle at Taunton in December. He wasn’t seen to best effect in a messy race on that occasion, yet to be asked for his effort entering the straight but given too much to do. The extra furlong he faces here will suit, and given how he finished his race off last time, he should have much more to offer. Rickety Bridge seems sure to have a future over jumps and looks the danger on his hurdles debut.

16:10 After Many Days
AFTER MANY DAYS made a fairly encouraging start in handicaps when fifth at Leicester and, with Pipers Cross due to run at Huntingdon on Sunday, she could be the answer off a 1lb lower mark. Our Pink Lady wasn’t disgraced at Fakenham last time, and she is second choice ahead of Kalpaga, who will be a danger to all if back to something like her best returned to this sphere following an unsuccessful stint over fences.
16:40 Samazul
SAMAZUL opened his account in a bumper at this course last season, and he offered more to work on than previously over hurdles in a big-field maiden hurdle at Newbury in January. He passed plenty in the straight coming from the rear that day and has seemingly been brought along with handicaps in mind. He is a nice type physically who should have more to offer now moving into handicaps from a potentially lenient mark, while he also represents a yard still going along nicely. Joker du Chenet is an intriguing candidate on debut for the shrewd James Owen yard, and he is feared most.
