Over the years this has been a phenomenal race and there’s a chance Jalon D’oudairies could show up in the Champion Bumper. It’s a bit of a surprise but it could happen. He’s done nothing wrong but the form is starting to slip from his win ahead of Redemption Day at Leopardstown.
Redemption Day was beaten at the Dublin Racing Festival but I wanted the form to be a bit stronger. I’m a little hesitant as there could be holes in the form.
The Leopardstown race on St Stephen’s Day which saw Cantico finish third behind Martin Brassil’s Goldinthemountains could be key for this race.
Cantico could be interesting but I don’t know why he didn’t go to the Dublin Racing Festival. The fact he didn’t show up there means he could go under the radar ahead of the Champion Bumper. He could be Willie Mullins’ best chance.
If Goldinthemountains shows up, he could be a good horse to keep on side. He’s a big price at the moment and Non Runner Money Back makes him appealing.
