LONGCLAW is a very flexible dual purpose performer, who arguably put up his best performance on the Flat last time at this venue when running a cracker. The front two pulled a long way clear and he was only chinned by last year‘s Irish Caesarewitch winner, Magellan Strait. Surprisingly, he’s only been given a little nudge up the handicap and looks like he can gain an overdue second success on the synthetic surface.

MY TURN NOW drops down into this lowly Classified contest, having started handicapping fully 18lb higher in the ratings. She also comes back to the minimum distance which looks absolutely ideal. The only negative is she is posted a little bit wide in stall nine. However, jockey of the moment Rossa Ryan is riding in such good form, he may well be able to overcome that slight hinderance.

DIBBLE DABBLE looks ready to show a jolt of improvement now stepping up in distance to 1m 2f at a track that clearly suits having run well here over the long sprint of 7 furlongs when we last saw her 127 days ago. Her trainer James Ferguson is looking for his first success of 2024 having filled the runners up spot twice and also a third and a fourth from just four runners.
18:45 Chelmsford – Make Clear
MAKE CLEAR dominated proceedings last time at Lingfield over this minimum 5 furlong distance, and just a 5lb penalty doesn’t look as if it’s going to slow her down that much. She had been slightly frustrating, hitting the board on numerous occasions prior to that breakthrough success, and looks well placed by her handler Robert Cowell to go back-to-back.

SIENNA BREEZE starts out for the new James Owen team fully 12lbs below her original peak rating. She’s already proven herself effective at this venue and the shrewd outfit decide to take off a handy 7lb with Joe Leavy easing the burden. She’s already proven herself at this level and can start her climb back up the handicap ladder.
