        13:20 Predators Gold

Another Dublin Racing Festival in which Willie Mullins looks set to dominate and PREDATORS GOLD looks the strongest of his quartet in the opening contest having pulled clear with the exciting Caldwell Potter in the Future Champions Novices’ Hurdle here over Christmas. The selection’s stable companions Loughglynn and I Will Be Baie are both unbeaten over hurdles and they can provide most resistance.

        13:50 Kargese

KARGESE was beaten only three quarters of a length by Kala Conti in a Grade 2 over course and distance in December and, with that run likely to have brought her forward, she’s taken to reverse the form with her old rival on these slightly better terms to open her account for these connections. Kala Conti seems sure to put up another bold bid, with Storm Heart and Intellotto others to take seriously following highly impressive starts to their hurdling careers.

            14:25 Marine Nationale

It is very hard to get away from the claims of MARINE NATIONALE, who proved much too good for Facile Vega over hurdles in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last season, and looked very exciting when continuing his winning run on debut over fences over this course and distance in December. He produced a near flawless display of jumping on that occasion, looking a complete natural, and he looks set to take his level of form up another notch now against better opposition. Found A Fifty won a Grade 1 over course and distance during the Christmas period and may prove the sternest opposition.

            15:00 Canal End

A wide-open handicap hurdle where you can make a case for several, but it is CANAL END who edges the vote for shrewd connections. He opened his account in a maiden hurdle over two and a half miles last season and he didn’t shape badly over a similar trip to this in a handicap at Navan in December. That form is working out well and this unexposed hurdler has the potential to improver further still. Fine Margin is expected to build on a promising debut at Haydock for Willie Mullins and is next on the list, although a good case can also be made for the likes of Gaoth Chuil, Nine Graces, and Will Do.

            15:35 Galopin Des Champs

Only four runners for this years Irish Gold Cup and, from a ratings perspective, it is impossible to oppose GALOPIN DES CHAMPS. He looked back to his scintillating best when beating Gerri Colombe by 23 lengths in the Savills Chase over Christmas, and if he is anywhere near that sort of level again the rest are playing for second place. Fastorslow defeated Galopin des Champs in the John Durkan in November and looks the obvious danger.

                    16:10 Madara

There are plenty to consider in this handicap chase, but it is MADARA who makes the most appeal. He had some near-useful form when trained in France and is starting to come to hand for this yard, producing his best effort for a while when winning at Cheltenham in December. He appeared to be well suited by the return to more conservative riding tactics on that occasion and there may be even more to come, so he is of interest with the booking of James Reveley catching the eye. Henn See disappointed at Limerick on Boxing Day but starts life in handicaps off a fair-looking mark, while Solness won a similar event in good style at Fairyhouse nine weeks ago.

                    16:40 A Dream To Share

A DREAM TO SHARE was the best around in bumpers last season, winning all five of his starts, notably the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival and the Grade 1 bumper at Punchestown. He stands out a mile on form and he is very hard to oppose on his return to action. Willie Mullins has several candidates with Redemption Day and You Oughta Know particularly respected.
