    17:00 – Soames Forsyte

Bluebottle Blue won’t be 25-1 this time, and she should be thereabouts despite competing in a higher grade than at Newcastle. However, SOAMES FORSYTE has impressed with his finishing efforts, and he edges preference over Yorkstone, with whom the selection dead-heated here last month.

    17:30 – Solomon

This looks like a golden opportunity for SOLOMON, who only went down by a short-head on his debut here, and the extra furlong should be no problem. Minstrel Knight showed a lot more when third over C&D last time, and although the form may not be solid, he still looks the one most likely to follow the selection home.

    18:00 – Brave Display

The big question with Trulie Good is whether she can repeat her recently improved course form back up in trip. She would be a player if she could, but the preference is for the 10yo BRAVE DISPLAY, who has winning form over C&D and was down to this level for the first time when beaten a neck at Wolverhampton 11 days ago. Equiami was behind him then, but this dual C&D winner could be a threat if the first-time blinkers help him rediscover his form.

    18:30 – Eligible

A few of these have to prove themselves on this track, including Darwell Lion and King’s Code, but they each have something to recommend, as does the progressive Smoky Mountain. Goldsmith (1-1 here) is another for the shortlist. But, the vote goes to ELIGIBLE, who is 4-8 at the track and put up a career-best effort when winning over C&D this month.

        19:00 – Floating Voter

There was no shortage of confidence behind FLOATING VOTER when he was delivered wide and late to make a successful handicap debut at Wolverhampton, and he looked good value for that narrow winning margin. Kempton winner Rhasidat is feared most ahead of Berrygate, who can pay her way in handicaps.

        19:30 – Back Tomorrow

Some guesswork is involved as to when some of these are going to make the most of a drop in the weights. Therefore, BACK TOMORROW looks like the most solid option. Pierrefonds has qualified for a low mark now handicapping, but it’s a moot point as to what his trip will be, and Revolucion may prove the main danger ahead of Inanna.

        20:00 – El Nibri (NAP)

Not many of these are solid. Asadjumeirah has the form to go close, but his long losing run is a concern. So, another placing may be his best hope. Preference is for C&D winner EL HIBRI (nap), who bounced back from his Newcastle blip with a solid fourth at Wolverhampton on Friday. Kaidu is yet to win, but his latest dead-heat third at Wolverhampton has been franked since. So, he may provide the main danger.

        20:30 – Defence Treaty

The unexposed Femme Patronne makes the shortlist following her recent narrow Newcastle defeat. While market support for the returning Elterwater would be significant with the longer trip likely to suit on pedigree. The usually consistent Trusty Scout could figure if bouncing back from his latest effort, and, although recent Wolverhampton winner Distinction still has the stamina to prove, he comes into this in better form than many. However, it may be worth taking a chance with DEFENCE TREATY, who has dropped 4lb lower than when winning easily over C&D in February last year.
