The Grade 2 Galmoy Hurdle is a midweek treat for racegoers at Gowran Park.
A field of five are set to take their chance in Thursday’s 14:15 including the talented-but-fragile Monkfish, who returns from a 273-day absence, and Thedevilscoachman.
Named after dual Stayers’ Hurdle hero Galmoy, the 3m slog has been won by a number of big names over the years such as War Of Attrition, Presenting Percy, Benie Des Dieux and last term’s champ Teahupoo.
Galmoy Hurdle odds can be found on the Paddy Power website and Paddy Power app, otherwise key trends from the last 10 renewals and a tip based off the big-race stats are below.

Galmoy Hurdle trends
A good starting point to whittle down the numbers as eight of the last 10 winners of the Galmoy Hurdle were aged between six and eight.
Only two winners since 2014 had previously run or won at Gowran Park so previous course form does not appear important.
Eight of the last 10 winners had previously run over a distance of 2m7f to 3m1f and four of those were successful at the trip.
A previous win in a Grade 1-3 race is crucial as seven winners since 2014 had already secured black type.
LAST TIME OUT
Eight of the last 10 winners had previously run within the last 61 days. The two horses to defy this trend were Presenting Percy (2019) and Benie Des Dieux (2020).
Paddy Power’s betting the Galmoy Hurdle usually has it correct as nine winners of the last 10 renewals could be found in the top three in the market.
You want to look for a horse rated in excess of 147 as eight of the last 10 winners boasted this figure.
Seven winners in the last 10 years went into the Galmoy Hurdle with two runs under their belt, while five had already scored that term.
Galmoy Hurdle 2024 trends verdict
Despite the presence of dual Cheltenham Festival winner Monkfish, the trends indicate it is a great opportunity for THEDEVILSCOACHMAN to add another Grade 2 to his CV.
