13:15 Lingfield – Matata
13:35 Thurles – Appreciate It
13:50 Lingfield – Saint Segal
15:00 Lingfield – L’Homme Presse
15:35 Lingfield – Regal Blue (NAP)

13:15 Lingfield – Matata

This is a reasonably open race and Djelo has to give weight away. I’d rather back Venetia Williams’ runners at Ascot and I’ve landed on Matata. He ran well at Cheltenham last time out and he jumped really well that day. He won on his chase debut and there’s more to come from him. He’ll handle the ground and he can go well.

13:35 Thurles – Appreciate It

Allaho hasn’t been the horse he was and Envoi Allen is giving lumps of weight away. This is a chance for Appreciate It to show what he can do. He didn’t get home after a mistake at Leopardstown last time out. French Dynamite could go well but I’ll side with Willie Mullins’ runner, who is the most solid pick.

13:50 Lingfield – Saint Segal

I prefer Saint Segal over Triple Trade. He fell at Ascot in November but he looked very likely to win the race and he would have beaten Triple Trade that day. He’s gone up 3lb but I don’t see that stopping him. However, I’d want a fair price to get involved.

    15:00 Lingfield – L’Homme Presse

    L’Homme Presse is top rated and gets weight from Protektorat and the race revolves around how fit Venetia Williams’ runner is. The word I’ve heard is that they wanted to make sure he was 100 per cent before coming back, so he must be ready to go. If he’s not fit, it’s Protektorat’s to lose but all signs point to L’Homme Presse being ready.

    15:35 Lingfield – Regal Blue (NAP)

    I’m interested in Jonjo O’Neill’s Regal Blue. He’s been shaping up well in his last couple of starts and he finished second at Haydock last time out. Both of his last couple of runs have shown he wants three miles but he might find his niche in staying handicaps. I’m not sure the handicapper has a hold of him. He wants a test of stamina and this isn’t the strongest race, he might make a mockery of his mark of 123.
