13:20 Navan – Killaney King
I’m keen to take on Gordon Elliott’s My Trump Card here. He’s made no secret of the fact that his string isn’t running great at the moment and a strike rate of 9 per cent over the last two weeks proves that. KILLANEY KING was a 12-length winner of a point-to-point and made a promising start over hurdles behind Blizzard Of Oz at Punchestown. He was a bit green but should come on for that debut and a stiffer 2m4f will surely see him improve further.
13:55 Navan – Make Good (each-way)
Make Good is a very interesting runner in what looks a winnable Listed race. Harvard Guy is the obvious threat after winning the last twice. Again, I’m keen to take on Elliott’s charges until he shows a turnaround in stable form. Catch The Beast is one that was well punted last time out and won easily off a mark of 105 but he’s up 17lbs now which is a tough ask to follow up on.
MAKE GOOD is the selection. Shane Crawley is a shrewd operator and even though he’s nine-years-old, my pick is fairly unexposed with only eight runs over hurdles. He was tailed off last time out but that was his first run over hurdles for three years and he ran very well over 1m 6f at the Curragh at the end of October showing that he can still run well and hold his form. It’s a bit of a chance but I reckon we’ll get an each-way price and he’s worth a shot for a yard that can line them up for a big race.

14:35 Lingfield – Bergerac
I’m going to side with BERGERAC. He was well beaten on his last few starts through the Flat Turf season on marks of 93 and 90 but they put him away for a couple of weeks and went on a winter all-weather campaign.
He was beaten last-time out at the start of November by Spangled Mac but he came out a week later and won off the same mark of 85 and then again at the start of December off 90. He beat Hiya Maite who went off as favourite and is now rated 97.
Bergerac is definitely interesting and I expect him to continue his good form throughout the winter. He’s capable of going very close off a mark of 95 now.
15:10 Lingfield – Queen Regent (each-way)
Oh So Grand looks very short in the market. I’m going with one each-way that has form with the fav and that’s QUEEN REGENT. She was second to Oh So Grand last time out at Lingfield and looked like she had a tougher passage than the winner that day.
She looked like she was having a good look around, as she has the last two starts. She’s got first-time cheekpieces on now and that’s pretty massive for her. She’s got a 4lb swing, too on Oh So Grand and, as far as I’m concerned, she’s definitely going to hit the first three places and hopefully all eight go to post so we get that each-way cushion. I’d even hope cheekpieces can see her turn the form around with the favourite.
