13:25 – Amazing

Who knows what racing will end up on ITV Saturday but I will be at Lingfield for the team and so I have concentrated on the four or maybe five races being shown at that track in the blog this week. This race may or may not be shown but is a handicap over 1m4f. Amazing has to be the interesting one after a handicap victory at Wolverhampton last time over this trip. The filly is up 4lb for that but she should be improving and that may not stop her for Hollie Doyle – back from a skiing trip – and Roger Varian.

    14:00 – Dragon Icon

Who knows what racing will end up on ITV Saturday but I will be at Lingfield for the team and so I have concentrated on the four races being shown at that track in the blog this week. This is a handicap over a 1m and it’s a wide open heat. Dragon Icon lacks experience but he was last seen in the German 2000 Guineas and was far from disgraced in fifth. He might need a bit further in time, but he looked good on this track back in May of last year and could be well handicapped off 95 if he’s really a Group performer for Roger Varian and Cameron Noble.

14:35 – Silky Wilkie (each way)

Another tricky contest in a handicap over 5f. Diomed Spirit keep winning and stall 7 is ideal for a closer. He’s gone up from 66 to 85 but could easily go in again. I’ll stick with the highly rated Silky Wilkie who is well darn in stall 6 and has decent form at the course. He should come late and fast under Clifford Lee for Karl Burke and has each-way claims.

      15:10 – Oh So Grand

A fillies’ handicap over 1m2f. Oh So Grand can get outpaced at a crucial stage in her races but she’s in cracking form for the Crisfords and should be hard to stop once again under Jack Mitchell. The recent course and distance winner is very well drawn for a horse who will just drop in and come home strongly.

15:45 – Le Rouge Chinois (each way)

A handicap over 2m. Again hugely competitive. A wind operation has to work again for Havanazam while African Star will have to be tough if going forward. Ali Rawlinson is riding out of his skin and he got a good tune out of Le Rouge Chinois at Southwell last time suggesting a win is close for the Danish bred individual. My selection appears to stay this trip and might be suited to the way the race is run. I’ll have a few quid on each way for the Mick Appleby runner.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
