    12:50 Fire Demon

The world’s best rider Ryan Moore turns up for a few warm-up spins on this synthetic surface and has a few good opportunities on the card. None look better than Fire Demon who looked pretty decent when winning comfortably around Kempton a fortnight ago and starts off handicapping on a realistic mark. He may well get the front end to himself as he did last time.

    13:25 Pride of Nepal (each-way)

The six-year-old Pride Of Nepal is reunited with Cameron Noble who clearly gets the best tune out of him and steps up an extra quarter mile after a really eye-catching start around here over a shorter trip. He takes a bit of organising, but should enjoy a decent run round from a close-to-middle starting position and a mark of 66 doesn’t look his ceiling rating.

    14:00 Fantastic Fox

Fantastic Fox has been in decent winning form of late and could quite easily have continued that run just 19 days ago. However, he made a massive move from the back of the pack to get into contention in the hottest part of the race, so that run needs seriously upgrading. He has fitness on his side with the likely favourite Dragon Icon from the same yard, returning after a lengthy lay-off.

    14:35 Alligator Alley

These old sprinters seem to take it in turns to get their head in front and Alligator Alley has now dropped down to a very attractive looking rating of 94. His two previous tries around this venue, were in a handicap off 105, and also in Listed company. He will be played fast and late and can score.

      15:10 Oh So Grand

She won pulling the proverbial cart last time over course and distance, when following up a Newcastle win. With just a gentle 4lb nudge up the handicap, this daughter of Postponed probably has most of fear from the improving Storymaker if the 10f trip suits that rival. However, Oh So Grand looks to have a bit more class.

      15:45 Smart Champion (each-way)

David Simcock’s runner Smart Champion has dropped down from a peak rating of 90 to a lowly-looking 66 and there was definitely signs of a revival over this 2m distance last time at Chelmsford. We have a few last-time-out winners to contend with, but there is no doubting we have the class angle on our side. The trainer/jockey combination are always to be respected at this venue.
