15:45 – Urban Road

New Year’s Day runner-up URBAN ROAD is unexposed over this distance and taken to go one better. On recent form Cusack looks a solid candidate for second choice, ahead of Turner Girl.

16:15 – Royal Musketeer

Dual C&D winner Abbey’s Dream showed that she remained in good form when third behind the thriving Storymaker at Southwell last time and should make her presence felt from 1lb lower, while the maiden Shaw Park is another to consider on recent performances. Admiral Nelson holds each-way claims having won over C&D last month, but the choice is ROYAL MUSKETEER who ended a losing run at Southwell last month. A 2lb rise still leaves him well treated on previous form.

16:45 – Novak (NAP)

This looks less competitive than the first division. Last month’s Wolverhampton winner Finn Russell is one of the likelier winners provided the return to 7f doesn’t catch him out, while the ten-race maiden Bowood is also a contender judged on his consistency. The choice, however, is previous C&D winner NOVAK (nap) who has performed well in his last two starts having dropped below his last winning mark.

17:15 – Alhattan

Crimson Coronet looks by far the best of those to have run following her promising debut fifth at Kempton last month and she should go well, but there are a couple of interesting newcomers up against her. Orchard Keeper is respected for her top yard, but ALHATTAN makes a bit more appeal on breeding while her stable had a well-backed 3yo go in at the first time of asking here on Tuesday.

    17:45 – Wait And Hope

Polly The Rocket is proven on the track having won over 7f here 11 days ago and she should go well again despite the penalty, as should Likeashadow who wasn’t far behind her last time and is better off at the weights. However, preference is for WAIT AND HOPE who is just 1lb wrong under a penalty for his recent Kempton success and there is a good chance he still has improvement left in him.

    18:15 – Little Ted

In-form LITTLE TED looks poised to regain the winning thread. Camacho Star, another solid contender on recent evidence, is second choice ahead of well-treated Concert Boy and possible improver Bluebottle Blue.

    18:45 – Moon Flight

A competitive-looking affair that includes three contestants who are ahead of the assessor. Marginal preference is for MOON FLIGHT, who drops back two grades. Not Too Real Bad is back up in class but runs off bottom weight and is second choice, narrowly ahead of progressive Pepsi Cat and in-form Nelson Gay. The switch back away from Southwell is the only quibble with Rodborough, who otherwise has good claims.

    19:15 – Captain Vallo

The return to this grade puts CAPTAIN VALLO and Thaki at the head of the shortlist. The selection is 2-3 at this level and looks attractively treated, while the second choice has a respectable record in Class 6 and won this contest two years ago. Last-time-out scorers Nazca and El Hibri warrant respect, while a few others also have possibilities.
