13:25 Beauzon

BEAUZON hasn’t been with Ian Williams all that long and he has hit form recently, completing a quick-fire double over this course and distance last week, and he remains a horse to be positive about in his hat-trick bid turned out under a double penalty.

The removal of a hood has seemingly been the catalyst to his progress, and he makes plenty of appeal in a race where the majority of his rivals have something to prove. Diamondsinthesand and Carlton And Co can pose the biggest threats.

14:00 Taxiing

TAXIING didn’t show much when trained in Ireland, but she has shaped well in two starts for David Evans, particularly over a similar trip to this at Chelmsford five days ago. She saw out the longer trip well, outpaced around three furlongs out but responded well to pressure and was produced to challenge entering the final furlong.

She was only beaten a short head by the odds-on favourite and she looks well handicapped turned out from the same mark. Alghazaal and Black Smoke rate the principal dangers.

    14:30 Jaunty Dancer

Despite clear signs of inexperience, JAUNTY DANCER shaped with promise when fourth in a 13-runner maiden over a mile at Kempton last month, doing all of her best work at the finish without being knocked about and, with improvement on the cards, she could be the answer in a race where the standard isn’t set too high.

Newcomer Sindoriyno wouldn’t need to be anything out of the ordinary to make an impact on debut and he is second choice ahead of Bas Bleu.

    15:05 Lauras Breeze

The vote goes to LAURAS BREEZE, who has hit the crossbar at Kempton the last twice, not doing too much wrong last time, but she conceded too much of a lead to the prominently-ridden winner, and she is taken to deservedly get her head back in front.

Dion Baker’s strike rate is modest (1-25) but his turn also appears to be near judged on recent efforts and he is next on the list, though handicap debutant Cobh Harbour should make his presence felt, also.

        15:40 Hellavapace

HELLAVAPACE’s last win came over this course and distance in April last year and she ran her best race for a while when runner-up at Chelmsford five days ago. That was her first start for eight weeks and she gave it her all from the front, only overhauled well inside the final furlong by a well-handicapped rival.

She is also on a competitive mark based on the pick of her form and seems sure to go well again. Romanovich and Inexplicable head the list of dangers.

        16:10 Optik

OPTIK had plenty of solid efforts to his name last year (finished runner-up four times) and he deservedly opened his account over a mile and a half at this course on Saturday. That was a smooth success, too, always travelling well and produced to lead a furlong from home, keeping on soon after to win with a fair bit up his sleeve.

Optik shouldn’t be too fazed by this drop back in trip and he looks very interesting turned out quickly under a 5lb penalty. Storm Valley and Aeroplane Mode may give him the most to think about.
