13:10 Wetherby – Chasing Fire
Hurricane Highway has a big engine but a problem with fences and Colonel Harry is stepping up to 2.5m for first time since running in a maiden hurdle. Chasing Fire has always looked as though this trip would suit and is worth another chance after unseating early at Aintree last time.
13:30 Kempton – De Rasher Counter
Minella Trump is the dark horse here at a price back on better ground and back down to his last handicap mark. However, De Rasher Counter races with much more zest last time and races here instead of the veterans’ race. There’s still life in him off 136.
13:49 Warwick – J’ai Froid
There are negatives about most of this field. Gentleman at Arms jumped poorly at Newbury (raced in rear) but was better racing prominently when winning at Aintree. Kyntara and Shallow River are from stables in form but J’ai Froid looks a different horse this year and remains well handicapped.
14:07 Kempton – Edwardstone
Three pressers against two hold-up horses so they should go a good lick and play into hands of Edwardstone and Banbridge. That will give Edwardstone the chance to press home his Ryanair Chase credentials for the Cheltenham Festival.
14:24 Warwick – The Changing Man
If Broadway Boy jumped like he did at Cheltenham he will be in trouble around here. However, The Changing Man was still going ok when unseating at Sandown last time out and can make amends now.

14:42 Kempton – Good Luck Charm
A competitive renewal of the Lanzarote Hurdle with Aintree winner Sonigino (now 7lbs higher) and Impose Toi respected. Good Luck Charm ran well behind the always well regarded Nurse Susan last time out and is 3lbs lower here courtesy of Ben Godfrey’s claim.
15:00 Warwick – Major Dundee
There’s loads of top heavy pace here to ensure a thorough test but several have questions to answer from their marks over this extended trip. Major Dundee will enjoy the drying ground and is only 6lbs higher than when winning Midlands National. The first-time visor should help him race more sweetly.
15:35 Warwick – Mill Green
Looks unlikely to be as stiff a test as Sandown will have presented which will help Cheltenham winners Cepage and Aye Right. Mill Green though will appreciate the drying ground and has a 4lbs pull with Thomas Darby on course and distance form.
