13:10 Wetherby – Colonel Harry

This looks Colonel Harry’s to lose and the step up in trip will really suit him. He won on his seasonal reappearance at Chepstow in November and he finished second at Sandown in December. If he replicates that run it’ll be more than enough.

13:30 Kempton – Chianti Classico

I was looking through the profiles of the horses and I kept coming back to Chianti Classico. At seven years old, he could be the one open to improvement. Who knows where his ceiling is? I won’t be opposing him.

13:49 Warwick – Mel Monroe

Mel Monroe’s run at Navan behind Croke Park in November was rock solid. He’s since run and finished fourth behind Jetara which isn’t progression, however, stepping up in trip should suit. He’s my tentative pick as I can’t bring myself to oppose him.

14:07 Kempton – Pic Dorhy

Janidil is the outsider for Willie Mullins, Edwardstone is changing his trip and Banbridge is back but he hasn’t run since April last year. The money has come for Joseph Patrick O’Brien’s runner and that means Pic Dorhy is a bit of value pick. He did very little wrong last year and he won this race in 2023. I’m siding with him, especially with fitness on his side.

14:24 Warwick – Apple Away

I’m an Apple Away fan and I don’t think she’s done much wrong for Lucinda Russell. She has such strong form and I’d forgive her debut over fences at Haydock. She won at Leicester last time out and she’s getting a good chunk of weight from Broadway Boy.

14:42 Kempton – Sonigino

I’m siding with Sonigino for Harry Cobden and Paul Nicholls. He was value for his victory at Aintree last month over 2m4f and that form has been franked. He’s improved and he’s finally found his right distance. He can follow up his Aintree win and land another.

15:00 Warwick – City Chief (each way)

This is a competitive renewal. Malina Girl was going really well before falling last time out at Cheltenham. I’ve come down on City Chief as an each-way shout for Nicky Henderson. He ran well enough on his seasonal debut behind Malina Girl in November but he disappointed behind Broadway Boy at Cheltenham in December. He’s down to a mark of 140 and he’s a good each-way price.

15:35 Warwick – Aye Right

I’m with Aye Right for Harriet Graham and Gary Rutherford. I was with him before he didn’t run at Sandown last week and the drying ground will suit him perfectly. Dylan Johnston is on board and claiming 7lbs too which is always a bonus.
