17:30 – Reverberation

Easy enough to have reservations over all eight runners. Sirius White and Hellavapace (second choice) have more to recommend them than some but REVERBERATION looked good when winning over 1m2f here last month and can leave his latest Wolverhampton run behind.

18:00 – New York Bay

Plenty of guesswork involved for most of them and the proviso with last week’s Wolverhampton winner NEW YORK BAY is that he needs to prove he can handle both the quick return to action and the new surface. He still looks the most interesting runner, although the refitting of cheekpieces on Liberated Lad makes him of interest off a handy mark. He looks the main danger although Taxiing could well improve for the longer trip and Atwixaday is worth a market check.

18:30 – Scarboroughwarning

Dyrholaey is a newcomer of note and needs a close market check on his debut. Rothay Park (second choice) looks set to go well once again but SCARBOROUGHWARNING is still capable of better and today’s extra furlong could spark that improvement.

19:00 – Kangaroo

Q Twenty Boy, Universal Grace and Due Date all have something to recommend them but KANGAROO might bounce back from a disappointing run three weeks ago and gain his first success. His second at Wolverhampton on his penultimate run offers hope he can win races at this level.

    19:30 – Sunset In Paris

Last year’s winner Calcutta Dream comes right into the reckoning, with Uther Pendragon and Silver Bubble also boasting form that gives them a serious chance at this level. SUNSET IN PARIS broke his duck in good style at Lingfield last month though and he can follow up.

    20:00 – Ultramarine (NAP)

Love De Vega can confirm last month’s C&D placings with Riot and Revolutionise and go well, while Remarkable Force also comes right into the reckoning. It’s hard to escape the claims of the thriving ULTRAMARINE (nap), however, with David Evans’ 5yo chasing a quick 7f hat-trick. He’s 8lb well in after his bloodless Kempton win at the weekend and can go in again.

    20:30 – Wee Geordie

A handicap that appears to revolve around whether or not The Gay Blade can reproduce the form he showed when sauntering clear of his rivals over 6f at Newcastle last week. He’s officially 5lb ahead of the handicapper despite the penalty and he has won over 7f in the past so there’s a lot in his favour. This isn’t a gimme though and Dulcet Spirit, Sparkling Spirit, Brother Dave and WEE GEORDIE all have something to recommend them. The selection looks a likely improver now handicapping at a low level and the clear pick of his three efforts came over C&D.
