11:55 – Nala The Lioness
NALA THE LIONESS represents a shrewd stable and it’s significant that she’s taking the bumper route (Flat bred), so she may prove too speedy for some of these – by Roaring Lion out of a mare who stayed a mile and a quarter. Thatswhatshesaid is another notable newcomer and Yougoglencoko is also of interest after a successful start at Kelso 108 days ago.
12:30 – Findthetime
A good winner at Wetherby on his penultimate start, FINDTHETIME shaped better than the distance beaten suggests having been badly hampered when fourth over further at Doncaster 21 days ago. He could be worth siding with to quickly resume winning ways now dropped back in trip and just 3 lb higher than his last winning mark. Gardener, an impressive winner on yard and chase debut at Southwell recently, should give him plenty to think about, however.
13:05 – Artic Mann
ARTIC MANN has returned from a long absence just about as good as ever and can be afforded a bit extra credit on his most recent outing having fared best of those who were held up. He is now a 10-year-old, but arrives in form, and he’s the percentage call in a tightly-knit handicap. Curley Finger could get an easy time of things out in front and is second choice, ahead of Teescomponentstrig.
13:40 – Two Auld Pals
TWO AULD PALS hit the target three times on the Flat in 2023 and found only a previous winner too strong on his recent hurdling debut at Bangor last month. That was his debut for this yard and he also pulled clear of the remainder, so he is fancied to build on that promise, and make the most of the 7 lb he receives from the penalised Forged Well, who won readily at Carlisle despite jumping markedly right. Konfusion could be the one to fill the places.
14:15 – Handstands
HANDSTANDS cost £135,000 after winning his sole start in points and he overcame inexperience to make a winning start under Rules also in a novices’ hurdle at Hereford last month. He was strong in the market that day and just had to be shaken up in the straight to assert, in full control when showing signs of greenness jumping the last, and he seems sure to take a step forward and prove hard to beat. Boolamore Classic and Mayheblucky have both shown ability between the flags, so they’re the most feasible dangers.

14:50 – Empty Nest
EMPTY NEST was a maiden Irish pointer and has made a good start over fences in recent months, hitting the frame on both occasions and closing all the way to the line when not beaten far at Catterick on his latest start. He made a couple of mistakes that day, but should find that experience aiding his development, and the switch to this more galloping track should also suit now sporting a first-time tongue tie. Coolkill and Goodoldbill look the main threats.
15:25 – Yealand
YEALAND looks to have got in lightly for his handicap debut based on some of his form, particularly his debut effort at Chepstow last season, so Jennie Candlish’s lightly-raced five-year-old gets the vote in a handicap where plenty arrive with a question mark against them. Tommy Johnson also goes into handicaps with more to offer so rates the main threat, while Robert d’Ores can’t be discounted if on song for his seasonal return.
