12:45 Hombre De Guerra

HOMBRE DE GUERRA was kept to two miles for his first two starts over hurdles at this course and left the impression that was a barely adequate test for him.

He put up his best effort when filling the runner-up spot on his debut here in November, rattling home from an unpromising position to pass the post only five lengths behind the winner. That form puts him right in the mix here and the step up to two and a half miles could be the catalyst for a significantly improved showing.

13:15 Clovis Boy

CLOVIS BOY stepped up on his previous form to gain a first success over hurdles at Hexham in November, looking all about stamina once more as he stayed on well to land the spoils by a length and three-quarters.

He is only 5lb higher in the weights today and the runner-up, Juge Et Parti, has since given the form a boost when winning his next start at the same course. Clovis Boy will have conditions in his favour again today and is fancied to take another step forward to defy a 5lb rise.

    13:45 Anti Bridgie

ANTI BRIDGIE has made a very promising start over fences with a couple of good-placed efforts at Carlisle and Catterick in the autumn.

She was up in grade when last seen at Catterick in November and it was a career-best to be beaten only five lengths into third, with a next-time-out winner following her home in fourth. Still low mileage over fences, Anti Bridgie has certainly shown enough to suggest she starts life in this sphere on a workable mark and could be the way to go in a wide-open heat.

    14:15 Aubis Walk

AUBIS WALK returned from nine months off with a comfortable win on her chasing debut over this course and distance a few weeks ago, immediately bettering the fair form she showed over hurdles last season.

Held up in the early stages, she jumped fine and was ultimately well on top at the finish having stayed on to lead at the final flight, ultimately winning by a length and a half. Aubis Walk is open to further improvement over fences and likely to stay ahead of the handicapper for a while yet despite a 6lb rise.

    14:45 Raffertys Return

RAFFERTYS RETURN returned to form on his penultimate start at Wetherby in November and he’s better judged on that effort having not been seen to best effect when finishing fourth at this course last time.

He simply did too much too soon on the last occasion, forcing a strong gallop before tiring in the closing stages. It’s worth putting a line through that run and he’s one to be interested in having dropped below his last winning mark, with the step up to three miles unlikely to inconvenience him if racing a bit more efficiently.

        15:15 Joshua Des Flos

JOSHUA DES FLOS looked a useful prospect at one time for Joseph O’Brien, notably finishing a good third on his hurdling debut at Punchestown in November 2022.

That form comfortably sets the standard in this maiden and he’s worth another chance to get back to that level having failed to meet expectations in a couple of starts since joining Stuart Crawford. This is the weakest race he’s contested for Crawford and the yard won it last year with L Anamour.

        15:45 Fia Fuinidh

FIA FUINIDH again shaped encouragingly when filling the runner-up spot at Carlisle last month, jumping boldly at the head of affairs and just lacking the speed of the winner when it counted.

Beaten less than five lengths at the line, he finished with running left and looks the type who could have more to offer as his stamina is drawn out further. Kept to two miles for the time being, Fia Fuinidh is one to be positive about regardless having been dropped 1lb in the weights since his Carlilse run.
