17:00 – Reve De Magritte

Triple C&D winner Broughtons Flare is worth a second look back down at this level, while the veteran Kenstone is another for the shortlist dropped to this grade for the first time. Reformed Character holds each-way claims if building on last month’s promising return from a mammoth absence, but preference is for REVE DE MAGRITTE who was only beaten a neck in a handicap over 7f here on Boxing Day. Her sole win came over this trip on the AW in France.

17:30 – Well Prepared

Captain St Lucifer is well suited by today’s conditions and should go well, while Coconut Bay and Gold Standard also come into the reckoning. Marisitta (second choice) has been hinting at better for this yard but WELL PREPARED has slipped down the weights and could be ready to strike having been caught out wide on his last two runs.

18:00 – Gypsy Whisper

Elusive Tiger’s best efforts have come at 1m and that tips the scales in favour of GYPSY WHISPER. Scott Dixon’s mare went close in a C&D handicap last week and a repeat of that would give her strong claims at this level.

18:30 – Le Geyt

Quick Away and Alreet Cha both bring untapped potential into the race and a positive market move for either would be interesting. Inner Temple should go well again but LE GEYT ran well in a better race at Kempton six weeks ago and he can strike at the third time of asking.

19:00 – Intervention (NAP)

The veteran Muscika should fare better than last time but he may have his work cut out dealing with INTERVENTION (nap). Mick Appleby’s 7yo ended 2023 in rude health and a 4lb penalty for his 7f win here on Boxing Day might not prevent him from landing a five-timer.

19:30 – Rogue Rosie

A small field but still a race of interest. Zola Power (second choice) is feasibly weighted starting out for a new yard after a wind op, while most of the others still have time on their side. Via Blanca won well at Chelmsford last time but she’d only been a short head in front of ROGUE ROSIE at Lingfield four weeks ago and that rival may be able to turn the tables on 9lb better terms.

20:00 – Not Too Real Bad

Josies Kid and Darlo Pride come into the race in good form and look set to go well once again but it might be worth giving another chance to NOT TOO REAL BAD. The selection looked rusty on her recent stable debut but she went without her usual tongue-tie and the return of that aid, allied to that recent outing, could see her exploit what looks a favourable mark.

20:30 – Night At Sea

Hill Station comes here on the up and he’s a solid contender but NIGHT AT SEA shaped as though she might have a bigger run in her when fifth on her handicap debut and she’s marginally preferred. Sir Laurence Graff needs a market check.
