12:25 Mojo Ego

MOJO EGO put his experience to good use to gain a first success over hurdles at Doncaster last time, hitting the front two out and showing a good attitude from there to hold on by half a length.

That form sets a fair standard in this line-up and the penalised Mojo Ego seems sure to go well again in his follow-up bid, with further progress not out of the question judged on the useful form he showed on the Flat in France as a two-year-old.

13:00 Centara

CENTARA looked badly in need of the experience when finishing fourth on his hurdling debut at Newbury earlier this month, looking very gawky approaching the hurdles and almost running out at the third last.

Still beaten only six lengths behind the exciting Jeriko du Reponet, Centara should take a big step forward with that run under his belt and this looks a very winnable race in which trainer Paul Nicholls has an excellent record, winning three of the last six renewals.

    13:35 Hard Frost

    HARD FROST has been expensive to follow since joining Harry Derham, having to settle for the runner-up spot in four of his eight starts, including on his return to action at Market Rasen a few weeks ago.

    Still, he remains unexposed as a chaser after just four starts in this sphere and a BHA mark of 88 is clearly workable judged on the pick of his efforts, only 2lb higher than when beaten a whisker in a similar event at Wincanton in April.

    14:10 Queens Gamble

    QUEENS GAMBLE made it two from two over hurdles with a dominant success at Kempton in November, justifying her short odds with the minimum of fuss after six months off having joined Harry Derham (formerly trained by Oliver Sherwood) in the interim.

    A useful performer in bumpers, notably winning a listed event at Cheltenham, Queens Gamble has the scope to rate much higher in this sphere and she’s fancied to take the step up in grade in her stride to maintain her unbeaten record.

    14:45 Game Winner

    GAME WINNER hasn’t looked a natural jumper of fences in his two runs this season, so it looks a sensible move from his connections to go back over hurdles. He achieved a fairly useful level of form in this sphere last season, producing one of his better efforts when running away with a novice event at Kempton in February.

    That form suggests he isn’t handicapped out of things here from a BHA mark of 117 and the application of first-time cheekpieces could eke out more improvement.

        15:20 Concrete King

        CONCRETE KING attracted strong support when tried in a first-time tongue strap at Southwell a couple of weeks ago, but he wasn’t seen to best effect on the day, doing well under the circumstances to be beaten just a length having been given an excessively patient ride.

        Lining up here from the same mark, Concrete King should be capable of winning a race of this nature when everything falls right and today could be the day for him to finally open his account under Rules.

        15:55 Individualiste

        INDIVIDUALISTE returned to something like his best when finishing third over this course and distance last time, passing the post nine lengths behind the winner and arguably deserving extra credit having made his effort towards the centre of the track and away from the principals in the straight.

        It was certainly a step back in the right direction and the addition of cheekpieces for the first time today could be the catalyst for another improved showing.
