13.15 Newbury – Martator
13:25 Haydock – East Street
13:50 Newbury – Get A Tonic
14:10 Taunton – Queens Gamble
14:25 Newbury – Atlanta Brave
14:45 Taunton – Game Winner
15:00 Newbury – Willmount
15:35 Newbury – Walking On Air

    ITV Racing are at Newbury for grade one action with the Challow Hurdle being the centrepiece as Paul Nicholls hopes to enhance his record in the contest.

    13:15 Newbury – Martator

    Venetia Williams would win with the yard cat at the moment. MARTADOR has dropped a fair bit in the ratings, and with question marks about a few of these gets the nod.

    13:25 Haydock – East Street

    Suzy Smith has her team in form, and if EAST STREET‘S jumping holds up he should be winning on the heavy ground.

      13:50 Newbury – Get A Tonic

      This mare loved conditions when bolting up at the track last time and enjoyed being back over hurdles. Venetia Williams’ new charge Now Or Never is a bit of a unknown, so GET A TONIC gets the nod.

      14:10 Taunton – Queens Gamble

      Harry Derham has made a great fist of things since starting training, and QUEENS GAMBLE is a very good filly who took on the boys last time and defeated them, and she is the one to beat here.

      14:25 Newbury – Atlanta Brave

      Kerry Lee is having a good season and ATLANTA BRAVE could enhance that. His form last term over hurdles is worth noting as his defeat of Ed Keeper and Inch House in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow reads very well. I think we have not seen the best of him over fences yet.

          14:45 Taunton – Game Winner

          It’s interesting that Harry Derham sends GAME WINNER, who was a winner over hurdles back in February, after a couple of disappointments over fences of late. He has put cheek pieces on too, and in a weak contest, he gets the nod.

          15:00 Newbury – Willmount

          I am hopeful more than confident, as we don’t have much to go on with WILLMOUNT. He has done everything right so far, but I will be a little concerned if it came up bottomless ground as it can turn into a slog.

          Masaccio got out-run close to home at Newbury last time, but prior to that his form looks good. Captain Teague was a head scratcher at Cheltenham last time as his bumper form is excellent. This is a deep race with lots of unexposed novices where the favourite should be around 3/1 not as short as he is at the time of writing.

          15:35 Newbury – Walking On Air

          Gavin Sheehan is having a dream run of things and Passing Well likes it at Newbury. The ground is the key here. He was fourth in the Challow last year and won nicely up at Newcastle on soft.

          Getting 13lb from Walking on Air looks attractive, however having watched last year’s Pertemps again, I can’t help but think if WALKING ON AIR takes to chasing and does jump well he could win here.
