15:30 – Flindrikin

FLINDRIKIN is progressive and has been allotted a reasonable opening mark, so she’s worth a chance to open her account at the likely expense of the in-form My Roxanne. Most of the others have some sort of chance, with Blue Yonder arguably the most appealing of them.

16:00 – Sandret

Plenty of in-form sorts in opposition but SANDRET did well under the circumstances and dropped the hint his turn is imminent when finishing a good second in a C&D handicap in October and he shades the vote. Rocket Rod returned to this venue, Cusack and the hat-trick seeking Struck Gold head the dangers.

16:30 – Inverlochy

INVERLOCHY and Enola Grey are both on the up and look the pair to concentrate on. The latter has barely put a foot wrong in four starts since joining the Gemma Tutty yard and isn’t passed over at all lightly, but Inverlochy is taken to confirm her superiority over that rival, having proved ½-length too good when they met over C&D last month. Clipsham Gold is third choice ahead of Ledger and Bobby Joe Leg.

17:00 – August

Only a handful of these are of any real interest and it’s AUGUST who gets the nod to get off the mark having shown plenty on first start for these connections at Southwell just less than a fortnight ago. Yasmina has a lengthy absence to overcome, but she remains with potential having switched to George Boughey, while Bystander, who was a disappointing favourite at Redcar in the spring, is another to look out for returning for a different handler.

17:30 – The Turpinator

THE TURPINATOR bounced back from a lesser show over 6f here when striking over C&D recently and, if in a similar mood, he may well follow up off this 3 lb higher mark. Al Farabi has to be feared, as an unexposed 3-y-o from a top yard and making his handicap debut off what looks a fair mark. Roger Varian’s charge is next on the list ahead of Jahidin and Illusionist, who was third to the selection here 12 days ago. The 10-y-o Scottish Summit also needs a second look in a competitive heat.

    18:00 – Filly One

Geoff Oldroyd’s FILLY ONE looks very much the way to go on the back of her debut C&D success with improvement on the cards. David Loughnane’s Cable Bay debutante Ruth Langmore could emerge as the chief threat, with C&D debut sixth Dollarindex appealing as the pick of the rest for minor honours.

    18:30 – Flying Fletcher

FLYING FLETCHER shaped better than the bare result when finishing midfield on nursery debut here 3 weeks ago, his effort flattening out having made a big mid-race move from the back. Returned to sprinting, he can confirm the promise of that run and strike. Lingfield scorer Professor Tickle and Magic Fluke head up the dangers, whilst it would come as no surprise to see Keen Interest take a step forward on his handicap debut.

    19:00 – The Caltonian

THE CALTONIAN has held his form well since landing a pair of handicaps in October and Linda Perratt’s gelding looks the one to beat here having shaped best at Wolverhampton last time. After John completed a hat-trick here last season and has to be respected after his ready win here last time, with Kats Bob and Secret Road others to consider.
