11:30 Artisan Dancer
Tamaris should appreciate going back up in trip after a solid effort over 1m4f here last week, while last year’s winner Smith and top-weight Western Stars also come into the reckoning. ARTISAN DANCER is still capable of better over this trip on AW though and he can end his run of seconditis.
12:00 Dashing Darcey
Top of the list is Roger Varian’s DASHING DARCEY, who went close at Newcastle last month before his impressive win over same course and distance (C&D) two weeks ago. He sets a good standard under a penalty for that success and is open to more progress.
The main danger is Character Testing, who has finished runner-up in all of his three starts and has shaped as though this step up to 1m could suit. Third choice is L’Eagle Aid, who was a promising third behind the selection here on his recent debut.
12:35 Clear Storm
Those with experience don’t set a daunting standard so money for one of the newcomers could prove significant. Fram Castle and Lennon may leave their initial runs well behind but CLEAR STORM offered hope of better at Kempton and she gets the tentative vote.
13:10 Tiaraqueen
Elderflower and Moonfire (second choice) are open to improvement, while Divine Presence is a newcomer of note for her powerful stable. TIARAQUEEN made the red-hot favourite work hard on her debut at Kempton seven weeks ago and can go one better with that experience behind her.
13:45 Sixties Chic (NAP)
There shouldn’t be much between Tony Carroll’s pair Mumayaz and Glamorous Express, while Impeach and Em Jay Kay also come right into the reckoning.
The two to appeal most are El Hombre, who bumped into one here last month, and SIXTIES CHIC (NAP), with clear preference for Jack Channon’s filly. She’s really kicked on since making the move into handicaps and a well-run race at this trip looks ideal for her. The best could still be to come from her.

14:20 H Key Lails
Several of these are happiest played late off a good pace and that wouldn’t be assured given the make up of the race. Edmund Ironside comes here in form but could be hamstrung by the widest stall, while So Chic, who still appeals as being ahead of her mark, isn’t sure to see out 1m.
Split Elevens, Recuerdame and Waleyfa all have claims, while keep a close eye on Cephalus in the betting as he’s likely to revive at some point soon. The vote goes to H KEY LAILS, whose best form for his former yard came when racing prominently and he’s well berthed in stall 1 should those tactics be revisited. He had a torrid run up the home straight at Chelmsford two weeks ago and needs serious consideration.
14:55 Ninth Life
Raintown and Goldsmith are two of the more solid options, while Sir Laurence Graff and Master Chartwell need a close look in the betting. Ciotog (second choice) wasn’t seen to best effect last time and can go well but the ex-Irish NINTH LIFE starts out for his new stable at a realistic level and he gets the nod.
15:30 Sunset in Paris
Warrior Square will be a danger to all if staying this new trip, while the well-handicapped The Conqueror can reverse recent C&D placings with Star Of Epsom and go close.
Uther Pendragon (second choice) is greatly respected but SUNSET IN PARIS is a strong-travelling sort who could find this track more to his liking than Chelmsford. Rossa Ryan, closing in on 200 winners for the year, is a positive booking too.
