12:25 – HAVEYOUGOTMYMONEY

HAVEYOUGOTMYMONEY gained reward for several good efforts when resuming winning ways at Southwell in October and he has held his form well since, leaving the impression he was still in top form in gruelling conditions at Kelso last time. He finished tired on that occasion, but this shorter trip at a sharper track will be in his favour, and he also finds himself in a weaker race now. Sanosuke, who won over course and distance last time, has to be feared, along with Blended Stealth.

12:55 – VALLEYVIEW TOMMY

This isn’t the strongest race of its type and VALLEYVIEW TOMMY is taken to build on the promise of his Rules debut. He finished runner-up on his completed start on points and he was still in contention two from home at Kelso in October, but he was beaten soon after and wasn’t given a hard time in the closing stages. This step up in trip is sure to suit him and he remains with plenty of potential. Got Your Back also shaped well on his hurdling debut and is expected to pose the biggest threat.

13:25 – MAGGIE O

MAGGIE O is an Irish point winner who built on previous promise when opening her account at Doncaster last month on her first start since undergoing a breathing operation and also sporting a tongue tie. She still looked a little inexperienced on that occasion, hanging to her left on the run-in, but she ultimately had plenty in hand, and a subsequent 4lb rise may not be enough to stop her following up. Lenebane, who ran well behind the selection last time, is feared along with handicap-debutante Sunday Soldier.

13:55 – HELLO JUDGE

13:55 – HELLO JUDGE was a lightly-raced winner over hurdles and he stepped up on his reappearance run when opening his account over fences at Carlisle in October, displaying a good attitude as he rallied in the closing stages to regain the lead. He didn’t see his race out at Newcastle last time having looked a big threat early in the straight, but this represents an easier task, and he is well worth another chance to confirm himself still on a good mark. Restandbethankful, who has turned over a new leaf since joining this yard, looks the likely danger.

14:25 – LIHYAN

LIHYAN was a comfortable winner of a maiden hurdle at Cork on his final start in Ireland for Josh Halley and, though he hasn’t been able to reproduce that form for this yard as yet, his handicap mark has tumbled as a result, and he was given too much to do over two miles at this course last time. The step back up in trip should suit and he now races off a career-low mark and in a weaker race, so he could be worth chancing in an open event. The five-year-old is taken to get the better of Copper Fox, who has also fallen a long way in the weights.

14:55 – DR SHIROCCO

DR SHIROCCO belatedly opened his account under Rules despite being 3lb out of the handicap at Hexham in June and he came out on top again on his return from five months off over two and a half miles at this course last month. There was an opportunistic element to that success –  avoided the worst of the melee at the second and then helped by an errant rival at the business end –  but he deserves credit for making up so much ground in the straight and he is taken to defy a 3lb rise and complete a hat-trick. Lucinda Russell’s chasing newcomer So They Say is not without interest, though, and could emerge as the chief threat.

15:25 – ONE MORE STROKE

In a race where the betting will provide more clues, the suggestion is for  the Donald McCain Irish point recruit ONE MORE STROKE. He finished runner-up twice between the flags and represents a yard who do very well in this sphere. Nicky Richards also does well in bumpers so his newcomer Yakaleo is a possible threat, while Getagin looked set for second until a late departure on his Irish point debut.
