Newcastle 16:05 – Enpassant

James Fanshawe’s charge ENPASSANT was first past the post but demoted the last time he ran over this course and 7f distance. Since then he has put up a pretty decent performance at Lingfield over the mile, but was far too keen early on. The drop back to 7f with the hood on can see him gain an overdue success.

Wolverhampton 18:00 – Bass Player

The four-year-old BASS PLAYER finds himself 18lbs below his peak rating for the very shrewd Kevin Frost yard who picked him up for just £8,000 at the horses-in-training sale. He makes his return just 70 days from his last outing and is completely unexposed on the all-weather surface, having run just twice on it. He could well prove a decent purchase and a good money spinner throughout the winter.

Newcastle 18:15 – Symbolize (each-way)

SYMBOLIZE had his first all-weather outing last time at Wolverhampton and didn’t run too badly. His run style should see this straight 7f suit him much better and he finds himself on a very attractive mark of just 88. Ryan Sexton claims a valuable 3lbs and he has to go well at an each-way price.

    Wolverhampton 19:30 – Graphite

The veteran of the field GRAPHITE has hit the frame on three of his five tries on a synthetic surface and is overdue a win in this discipline. The 1m 4f trip looks ideal, having won over this distance and under this pilot David Egan at Ascot.

He probably didn’t get the credit he deserved when finishing second behind Savvy Knight at Kempton last time as he was slightly short of room at the quarter-mile pole but hit the line strongly.

    Newcastle 19:45 – Lezardrieux

LEZARDRIEUX, a multiple winning handicapper, recorded his 11th victory last time off a very lenient mark of 57. He doesn’t look as if a 4lb rise will slow him down too much and has a massive draw advantage in box 12, right up against the paint on the stand-side rail.

    Wolverhampton 20:30 – Enthrallment

ENTHRALLMENT hasn’t had that many starts for the new stable and ran a funny race last time at Kempton behind Savvy Knight and Graphite. He seemed to lose his position down the back straight and had a lot to do when they sprinted for home.

Although he finished seventh, he stayed on well enough from way back to suggest that a win for the new KP De Foy team is coming.
