17:00 Assailant
Several strong stables are represented in an interesting opener. ASSAILANT shaped promisingly on his York debut in the autumn and gets the nod.
Duke’s Command (second choice), Mach Ten, who has switched to Karl Burke since his debut, and the selection’s stablemate Lanfranco are others who likely have more to offer, while there are also some well-bred newcomers who need monitoring in the betting.
17:30 Al Baahy
Perhaps AL BAAHY can get his head back in front with Oisin Murphy taking the ride. Island Of Skye could have fared better with the draw but is still feared most on the back of last month’s Kempton success. Outrace and Win Win Power also make the shortlist.
18:00 Follow Your Heart
It’s not easy to rule out any of these. Revoloutionise caught the eye after a lay-off when sixth at Chelmsford while fellow same course and distance (C&D) scorer Titan Rock didn’t enjoy the rub of the green at Newcastle last time and must also enter calculations.
Both Johnny James and Leap Abroad bring solid credentials too but dual C&D scorer FOLLOW YOUR HEART signalled he is ready to go in again when an excellent Kempton third last time and edges the vote.
18:30 Lions House
Tourist has the form to have a big say if he’s at his best now starting out for Jack Jones but it’s hard to ignore the claims of Roger Varian’s LIONS HOUSE who looked an exciting prospect when impressively going in at the first time of asking at Newcastle. Ralph Beckett’s Not Afraid shaped well when a fast-finishing debut fifth at Kempton and could emerge as the chief threat.
19:00 Caroline Bay
Those with experience don’t set the bar that high, so it may be worth siding with Andrew Balding’s No Nay Never filly CAROLINE BAY to get off to a winning start. Fellow newcomer Quiet Resolve could also have a say, with Giorgio M (second choice) and Power Shot looking the pick of those to have raced.

19:30 Vaguely Royal (NAP)
Sole 3yo VAGUELY ROYAL (NAP) arrives on an upward curve and this son of Galileo rates a confident choice to defy a 3lb rise for his Newcastle success last time out and bag a third success from his last five starts.
Oneforthegutter (second choice) and Graphite look best equipped to fight it out for minor honours, with C&D winner The Thunderer completing the shortlist.
20:00 Whatawit
A real mixed bag for this novice. Sir Mark Prescott’s dual bumper winner WHATAWIT made a promising start in this sphere when third in a big-field Leopardstown maiden so looks the way to go here.
The useful hurdler Thirtyfourstitches could emerge as the chief threat, although the much less experienced duo Beyond Words and Composite, along with newcomer Lartigue, also need factoring in.
20:30 Nolton Cross
A case can be made for most of these but dual C&D scorer NOLTON CROSS signalled he’s ready to go close again when a promising fifth here last time, so he gets the vote.
Way Of Life brings very solid credentials and is next on the list ahead of C&D winner Lexington Knight and in-form pair Haku and Enthrallment.
