He’s patently not the force of old but SHERDIL ran well in defeat over same course and distance (C&D) a fortnight ago and ought to be able to cope with a 2lb nudge up the weights.

Tommytwohoots was too strong for Coast over C&D last month but Scott Dixon’s filly has the more appealing profile overall and is nominated as the main danger to the selection. Bernie The Bear and Churchill Bay also have possibilities, while Brave Display went close over 7f here yesterday.

17:30 Hand Jive

Chaumet More (second choice) and Better are two nursery newcomers with plenty of scope for improvement, while last-time-out winner Amroon ought to give another good account.

However, the suggestion is HAND JIVE, who drops back in trip after a close fourth over 7f at Newcastle last month.

 

18:00 Dicko The Legend

Resilience didn’t look a lost cause behind Let’s Go Hugo here in October and is better drawn today but DICKO THE LEGEND did well to get as close as he did when third that day, considering it was his first run in a sprint and he had to be switched.

His win since came over 6f but he still has some potential back at 5f. Let’s Go Hugo can be the main danger, with Ramon Di Loria (despite the draw) and Agostino others to consider.

18:30 Galloping On

A number of these offer potential and the market should prove revealing. Tiaraqueen has a high draw to overcome but is still well in the mix along with Super Saiyan (second choice) who also seems sure to take a step forward from an encouraging debut run.

Newcomers Superb Force, Miss Oxford and Roobeena all command respect but Clive Cox’s GALLOPING ON has the inside draw and can build on a promising C&D second.

19:00 Gincident (NAP)

Richard Fahey’s C&D scorer GINCIDENT (NAP) shaped well after a layoff when a running-on fifth over 7f here last time and can bag a fourth success of 2023.

Lightly raced Talis Evolvere is feared most on the back of his very good recent second here, although Chantico and Woodstock City need considering too on their debuts for new yards.

 

19:30 Waleyfa

Newcastle scorer Whatwouldyouknow brings very solid credentials and in-form pair Harbour Vision and Landlordtothestars must enter calculations.

Weloof is another to consider but C&D scorer WALEYFA didn’t enjoy the rub of the green when fifth at Lingfield last time and is taken to bag a fourth success since joining Alice Haynes.

20:00 Min Till

Get Set Jet and Ashmore are considered starting out for new yards, while Snooze Lane and Laura’s Breeze have winning form here and must also enter calculations.

Rose Light (second choice) is weighted to go close on the back of an encouraging debut fifth for Gemma Tutty but course scorer MIN TILL was back to form when runner-up here last time and can capitalise on a handy mark.

20:30 Moon Over The Sea

Ghostly (second choice) can boast a course win and didn’t enjoy the rub of the green when seventh here last time, so he is well in the mix, while Louisiana Bay and Urban Champion need considering on their first go over 1m4f.

But Tony Carroll’s C&D scorer MOON OVER THE SEA looks primed to go very well after an encouraging third here last time out and he gets the vote.
