Beaten less than three lengths at the line, he can line up today from an unchanged mark and should mount a bold bid to go one better at a track where he’s usually pretty reliable.

BRAVE DISPLAY shaped well when finishing third at this course last time, passing the post just three quarters of a length behind the winner and looking unlucky not to get closer still having been caught further back than ideal in a steadily-run race. He is 1 lb lower in the weights today and could be worth a chance to build on that effort now back down in trip.
18:00 – SMOKY MOUNTAIN
SMOKY MOUNTAIN showed fairly useful form in three starts earlier this year, producing one of his better efforts when finding one too good over this course and distance in March. That form puts him right in the mix here and it looks a good opportunity for him to get off the mark, with further progress likely if he’s ready to go after seven months on the sidelines.
18:30 – DAME SARRA
DAME SARRA showed improved form when regaining the winning thread at Chelmsford last month, proving well suited by the step up in trip as she asserted close home to land the spoils by a length and a quarter. She’s putting together a solid record on the all-weather and a 4 lb rise in the weights might not be enough to prevent her from following up in a wide-open contest.
19:00 – FIRST OF MAY
FIRST OF MAY is unbeaten in two starts over this course and distance and her victory here last time was a career best following a series of below-par efforts, keeping on well to win by three quarters of a length. Still relatively low mileage after just seven starts, she may yet have a bigger effort in the locker under these conditions and remains one to be interested in from a 4 lb higher mark.

19:30 – ULTRAMARINE
ULTRAMARINE finally opened his account at Chelmsford a couple of weeks ago, ultimately winning by half a length having finished strongly to lead well inside the final furlong. It’s taken him a long time to get his head in front, but there doesn’t seem anything wrong with his attitude, likely to remain competitive now that he's up and running for the David Evans yard.
20:00 – GOD OF THUNDER
GOD OF THUNDER returned from six months off with a decisive win over this course and distance a couple of weeks ago, hitting the front early in the straight and gradually drawing clear from there to win by three and three-quarter lengths. The manner of that victory suggests he was full value for a 7 lb rise in the weights and he could be the type to kick on now that he’s discovered the winning habit.
20:30 – GOLDSMITH
GOLDSMITH is proving expensive to follow, but he’s been knocking on the door recently and could be worth another chance to end his long losing run. He ran one of his better races when filling the runner-up spot from a 1 lb lower mark at Lingfield last time and the application of first-time cheekpieces could give him the extra edge he needs to gain a first win since January.
