11:55 – Queen Jane
Queen Jane instantly improved on her hurdling efforts when landing a beginners’ chase on her first start over fences at Clonmel in February, putting in an assured round of jumping on her way to a comfortable nine-and-a-half-length success. She raised her game again when following up in handicap company at Limerick, impressing with how quickly she settled matters, and she was in the process of posting another career-best at Punchestown until falling at the final fence when upsides and still holding every chance. She remains on a handy mark and is still open to further improvement over fences.
12:25 – Nara
Henry de Bromhead’s horses are in superb order and the trainer has an interesting representative here in the shape of French recruit Nara. Nara was a comprehensive winner of a listed hurdle for newcomers on her debut at Auteuil in April and the level she ran to there marks her out as a big player, for all there are plenty of promising and unexposed sorts on show here.
12:55 – Minella Crooner
This marathon trip promises to suit Minella Crooner who has often shaped like a strong stayer. He made a winning return at Wexford last month and, while he wasn’t the most convincing on that occasion, is entitled to be sharper with that outing under his belt. He is worth siding with on his handicap debut.
13:25 – An Tobar
The fact point winner An Tobar was sent off 8/13 favourite on his debut under Rules suggests that he is held in some regard, and he looked an exciting prospect when rewarding that support over this course and distance last month. An Tobar jumped soundly, led on the bridle early in the straight and drew clear between the final two hurdles to win with plenty in hand. This represents a quick rise in class but An Tobar was impressive on his debut under Rules and is well worth a crack at this Grade 1.

14:00 – Letsbeclearaboutit
Letsbeclearaboutit was a useful hurdler – he finished fourth in the Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival – but he has quickly made up into an even better chaser. Letsbeclearaboutit created a good impression when winning on his chasing debut at Gowran Park and he raised his game to follow up in Grade 3 company at Cork last month, cruising ten lengths clear to score with plenty in hand. That was one of the best performances produced by a novice chaser so far this season and, with the potential of more to come over fences, Letsbeclearaboutit gets the vote to make the Grade 1 breakthrough.
14:35 – Impaire et Passe
Impaire et Passe was Timeform’s highest-rated novice hurdler last season and can make a successful start in open company. He was unbeaten in four starts over hurdles for Willie Mullins last season, including twice in Grade 1 company at Cheltenham and Punchestown. He was especially impressive in the Ballymore at Cheltenham, where he showed bags of pace to readily assert, and he could be a top-class hurdler.
15:10 – Foxy Girl
Foxy Girl shaped well when third on her handicap debut at Down Royal last month, keeping on in promising fashion having been caught further back than ideal. That effort showed she has entered handicaps on a fair mark and, with more still to come from this unexposed mare, she can raise her game and land this valuable prize.
15:40 – Bleu de Vassy
Blue de Vassy, a €235,000 purchase after finishing runner-up on his sole start in points, had to settle for second on his bumper debut at Sligo in October but he produced a promising effort and should do better with that run under his belt. Most of these are unraced under Rules so Bleu de Vassy might be able to put his experience to good use.
