12:40 Southwell – Generous Day (Racing Post)

Fazayte (second choice) and Tom Creen have been racking up the wins but the veteran GENEROUS DAY looks interesting now that he has a run under his belt, just as he did when winning this race on soft ground last year.

12:50 Sedgefield – Reign Suepreme (The Sun)

A few of these have questions to answer and it makes sense to side with one of the recent C&D winners, with the lowly weighted REIGN SUEPREME marginally preferred to Onestepatatime. Kildrum could have a say if shrugging aside his recent no-show at Hexham.

13:10 Southwell – Sadlers Bay (Times)

The transition to fences for SADLER’S BAY was safely negotiated over nearly 2m4f at Plumpton and this step back up in trip should suit him judged on his bold show over 3m1f in a handicap hurdle in May, when he renewed his effort in game fashion after a bad stumble two out. Star Flyer rallying over 2m4f on his chase debut hints that he may emerge as the chief danger.

14:50 Sedgefield – Methusalar (Daily Mail)

Zuckerberg was perhaps unlucky not to have won here recently and he’s second choice, for all that Beat The Edge can be expected to finish closer to him this time. However, METHUSALAR could be interesting back down in distance, as it’s still early days for him over fences and indeed with Peter Bowen. A tongue-tie may also assist him.
