12:05 Keep Wondering

After a good debut for his new yard in novice company this may go to KEEP WONDERING, who dealt with this mark over fences. Could Be Trouble is second choice ahead of last year’s winner Balkotic who hinted at a return to form last time.

12:40 Torneo

Union Flag won in good style at Musselburgh on his first run for Donald McCain and is respected under a penalty, but preference is for TORNEO who was useful on the Flat in France, and his new trainer Jamie Snowden has an excellent 48% strike-rate here. Latin Verse is another who could run well.

13:15 Limerick Leader

Winning hurdler; LIMERICK LEADER with two seconds over fences (went close off this mark in the first) and probably failed to stay 3m last time; couldn’t rule out.

14:50 Geromino

Topweight GEROMINO was a creditable second in a 1m7f handicap at Wetherby last time and there can be optimism he’ll be fine now back up in trip. He earns the vote ahead of last month’s Wetherby winner Getaway Luv, although the Dan Skelton-trained Tokey Dokey is an interesting contender back from a long absence.

14:25 Got Your Back

Huntingdon winner Doc McCoy holds strong claims under a penalty but this could go to the hurdling newcomer GOT YOUR BACK on his first run for Donald McCain. He has shown promise when finishing placed in a point and a bumper. Point runner-up Bugise Seagull is an interesting rules debutant.

15:00 Shanty Alley (NAP)

Off a competitive mark and having started last season so well, preference is for assured stayer SHANTY ALLEY (NAP). Second choice is Anti Bridgie who shaped with considerable promise on her chase debut. Kayf Hernando should go well if coming on for his Plumpton run, which is highly likely.

15:35 Trudie Glen

A difficult race to approach with any confidence. TRUDIE GLEN might be the answer with the benefit of bumper experience and she could easily have won at Ludlow. Gwash is suggested as second choice having won his point with plenty to spare, though the same is true of both Iorangi De L’Isle and Defence Witness. The market needs checking.
