Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.

Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

12:30 Market Rasen – Lady Gwen (Daily Mail, Robin Goodfellow)

Add 186 yards to the advertised race distance. The 5yo mare LADY GWEN prevailed in a big field at Taunton last Thursday and, with that win coming in a conditionals’ handicap, she escapes a penalty here. She is the selection ahead of the handicap newcomer Hugueneau, a point winner who is having his first run for Dan Skelton. The 3yo Climate Precedent benefits from a 16lb allowance and is another interesting contender.

14:15 Market Rasen – The Same (Irish Daily Star, Brian Flanagan)

Add 282 yards to the advertised race distance. THE SAME showed plenty of promise on all three hurdle starts and this point winner gets the nod in the hope he will improve for the switch to fences. Pearly Island may be the main danger now back down in trip on his second chase start, while Prairie Wolf can go well if taking to fences.

15:15 Wincanton – Tamaris (The i, Jon Freeman)

Top of the list is Joe Tizzard’s progressive 6yo TAMARIS, who has won in good style at Plumpton and Fontwell in his last two starts and can defy another rise in the weights to make it 3-5 over fences. Moytier rallied well for third on his recent chase debut at Hereford and he’s feared most on this step back up in trip. Others to consider are Balko Saint, who is on a dangerous mark on his return to chasing, and Flagrant Delitiep, who ran well off a much-reduced mark over C&D last time.

17:00 Wolverhampton – Elegant Appeal (Racing Post, Spotlight)

It is noteworthy that Richard Hannon went to 32,000gns to buy Gaiden back at the sales as her three latest efforts have been disappointing. Her early-season form is particularly strong though and she can’t be ignored now down in class and up in trip. South Kensington is 3lb well in after her near miss over C&D last week and has to be high on the list, but she was no match for ELEGANT APPEAL at Newcastle last month and Karl Burke’s filly, who took a significant step forward with cheekpieces fitted, remains capable of better.
