Kodebreaker (second choice) can go well back here for the first time since finishing close up over C&D in March but a chance is taken that ANGEL OF PEACE can transfer her Polytrack form to Tapeta. She’s only had one go on the surface, when outstayed over 1m3f at Southwell in September, but a subsequent Chelmsford win was a good effort for the level and there could yet be more to come for her new yard. Kodi Noir looks the most solid of the remainder.
Legacy Power will be a tough nut to crack if able to build upon his debut effort but we haven’t seen him since April and preference is for INCREMENTAL, who moves up in trip after a pleasing stable debut over 1m2f last month. Lord Melbourne (who was third behind the selection at Chelmsford) can also feature.
The percentage call is BULLDOG DRUMMOND, who is in good form, proven under the conditions and drawn on the inside, but there are several others who could step up on previous efforts. Top of that list are Havana Smoke, Split The Profit and Newport Bay in that order, while Ninety Nine is also interesting for a new yard on her AW debut.
Preference is for BERRYGATE, who was an eyecatcher here 12 days ago. Theworldsnotenough, another filly whose encouraging debut came at this venue, is second choice ahead of Morindoo who has major claims if her latest effort is repeated. Heed the market signals with regard to the two newcomers.
This should be run at a good clip with Neptune Legend and Blackcurrent just two who are likely to go forward. It may pan out well for CHEESE THE ONE who edges preference over Alyara.
A C&D event 12 days ago saw ULTRAMARINE (nap) finish an unlucky third and he makes most appeal. Second on the list is the reliable Mumayaz, with the in-form Scott Dixon-trained pair A Pint Of Bear and Catesby also considered.
This is likely to be run at a strong pace and the big improver Jenever (second choice) should be bang there despite a hefty rise for his recent Newcastle success. Rodborough and Pepsi Cat still have time on their side but a short break could have freshened up THE THAMES BOATMAN and he can gain his third course win.
An open race. NIARBYL BAY is one of the least exposed contenders and he has the ability to win races off his current mark. Not a lot went right at Kempton ten days ago. Shazam is back at a more realistic level and he’s next best ahead of Absolute Queen and Swift Tuttle.
