12:35 Milan Tino

MILAN TINO has made a bright start over hurdles, finishing runner-up on his debut in listed event at Auteuil in September, and better that form when finishing third in a Grade 2 event over the same course and distance last time.

That form sets a clear standard on Timeform ratings and he looks a big player on his British debut representing a powerful owner. Burdett Road was useful on the Flat and made an impressive start over hurdles at Huntingdon, so looks the obvious danger with the prospect of even more to come.

13:10 Stricklyadancer

STRICTLYADANCER was a two-time winner over this course and distance in 2021, including this race from a 7lb lower mark, and he has shaped well in a couple of starts since returning from a lay-off so far this season.

He did easily the best of those who were ridden off the pace when fourth to Mole Court in another course and distance handicap last month and, now much better off at the weights, especially when taking his riders claim into account, he is fancied to overturn that form.

Mole Court rates the main threat in his bid for a five-timer, although Irish-challengers Read To Return and Hascoeur Clermont need factoring into consideration, too.

13:45 Good Risk At All

GOOD RISK AT ALL had some useful form over hurdles but, judged by his chase debut win at Carlisle last month, he has the potential to reach even higher heights over fences.

Admittedly, his task was made easier by his main market rival departing three from home, but Good Risk At All had yet to be asked for his effort, and he stretched 16 lengths clear of the remainder in effortless fashion. He is expected to take this step up in grade in his stride before having a tilt at top-level company.

Mister Coffey found his stamina running dry late on in the Grand National when last seen so he’s put forward as the main threat returning at a more suitable trip.

14:20 The Real Whacker

There is more than a whiff of brilliant chaser about THE REAL WHACKER and while he has a huge weight to defy on his return it would be no surprise if he were up to the task. He won all three of his starts over fences last season – all at this course, too – confirming himself a high-class novice when defeating Gerri Colombe at the Cheltenham Festival.

That form could hardly have worked out any better and he has the potential to develop into a serious Cheltenham Gold Cup contender this season. Stage Star is the other Festival winner in the line-up and seems sure to go well given his fine record first time out for Paul Nicholls.

Unexpected Party seems sure to win a good handicap or two this season having seen off Knappers Hill on his return.

14:55 Placenet

PLACENET was prolific over both hurdles and fences when trained in France and he is potentially very well treated on his handicap hurdle debut. This trip should be within his range and it will be particularly interesting to see how he fares in the market on his debut for David Pipe, still only a six-year-old and may have even more to offer.

Buddy One is 9lb higher than when winning at Galway last month but he seems sure to give another good account tackling a new trip that ought to be within range.

15:30 Resplendent Grey

The two of interest in this handicap are most definitely RESPLENDENT GREY and Springwell Bay who are both making their handicap debuts. The former looked a good prospect in bumpers and he won his first two starts over hurdles in April.

He lost his unbeaten recorded but emerged with plenty of credit when runner-up to a potentially smart one in the Persian War Novices’ Hurdle at Chepstow on his return last month and he is potentially well treated from a mark of 127 now entering handicaps.

He may have a fitness edge over Springwell Bay and that may prove the difference.

16:05 Sharp Object

Following an impressive winning debut, SHARP OBJECT was unlucky to bump into Aurora Vega at Gowran last time, and she lost little in defeat. In the likely absence of such a talented rival, she’s fancied to get her head back in front at the possible expense of fellow Irish raider Baby Kate.

Disco Daisy also makes plenty of appeal on the back of an impressive start at Chepstow.
