Each and every day of the racing year we bring you a bumper NAPS table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
Despite their poor strike-rates Port Or Starboard and El Jefe have the form to make an impact in a race like this, but there may still be more to come from JERSAY DU TROTTET who was noted making late progress when fourth on handicap debut at Huntingdon last time. He may well step forward again from that first start in six months. Calevade would have a chance if bouncing back to his earlier Cartmel form.
Add 318 yards to the advertised race distance. The very lightly raced point winner HENRY GRAY is open to improvement on this chase and handicap debut and he is the selection ahead of Rosearelli, who was only 9-2 when unseating early at Ffos Las most recently on her second start back from a long absence. Last year’s runner-up Caro Des Flos is another possible player.
Obsessedwithyou came fourth in a good fillies’ handicap at Cheltenham in April but she was allowed to lead at a fairly steady tempo that day and may be slightly flattered by that form. Her tendency to race freely is a nagging concern as she moves up in trip here and preference is for handicap debutante JAMINSKA, who was 5l too good for Obsessedwithyou at Hereford in January. Parikarma and Isabella Bee also make the shortlist.
This may prove the time to catch REVOLUTIONISE, who looks interesting back from a break having been fresh when gaining his last win. Riot, who holds obvious claims, is feared most ahead of Hot Chesnut, G’Daay, Sir Oliver and Maxi Boy in that order.
